!MUSLIM SAMWICH ARMYGEDDON!

I keep getting told muslims are a minority and less than 5 % of our population. So how come any business cares?

Either the figures are totally wrong or they are vocally militant in their religion and not what we need or want in this country.

I'd presume that they make up a larger portion of franchise owners and I'd presume that some of these franchise owners have pushed for this.

Having said that I don't see why they need to get rid of bacon/ham etc... Just make sure the chicken/turkey etc.. is halal and any Muslim customers are sorted... its not like they'll order something with bacon on.

They've made clear the animals are stunned first so I don't see a big issue with this story... just a minor issue for me of why they can't still sell bacon, ham to non-muslim customers etc... along side the halal chicken, turkey etc... Just need to keep it separate - whack on a warning 'contains pork product' sign or something as people do with nut allergies etc..

At the end of the day there appears to be a lot of people talking utter nonsense thinking they know it all... How many of you have actually been in a slaughterhouse? I suspect very few so continue looking at the nonsense in the daily mail and videoleak or what ever its called.

**** the bed! There's quite a big Chinese population where I live and we have 2 Chinese supermarkets. Should we ban them too?

The only time eating a Subway is forgiveable is at 3am after you've just staggered **** faced out of a bar, at which point it doesn't really matter if it's halal or not. :p

make me own sarnys, pig, bread, butter and brawn sauce! and maybe a runny egg and a pig sausage too.

ppl bye sarnys from shops? lol

Me taking additional pay for Easter is not taking pork away from anybody for religious reasons. Completely different.

A businesses decision to take pork off the menu due to low demand is not the same as taking pork away from you. Nothing has been removed from your possession, and you free to go buy some pork from wherever sells it if you so wish.

All or just some? I guess I should qualify that by saying more biased and judgemental than our good non-intrusive never a little bit excitable atheist friends. Because I know some pretty judgemental atheists, agnostics, Muslims, Hindus, Jews and Christians. Most though seem to just keep themselves to themselves and not really do too much of that bar the weather and Cameron/Clegg.

well most not all my dad is quite the ned flanders and he is judgemental but usually keeps it to himself. Yup their are plenty of judgemental atheists too but they are judgemental through observations not through a belief system. Jerry springer the musical received 20,000+ complaints from Christians across the country before it was even aired because of reports about it' portraying Jesus as gay. Try being a divorcee in some churches too. No one is perfect but we should look to our own flaws as well sometimes rather than just blaming the immigrants.

I'm both sorry and pleased you only managed to understand that I insulted ukip supporters in that wall of text. Yes I do babble sometimes but I don't care enough to re-write the whole damned thing just for people like you, just add me to ignore and then you won't have to read the sprawling's of my dysfunctional but at least rational brain. Regerts TwsT

Anyone else thing Mags is sitting there with his feet up enjoying the ensuing chaos? :)

Definitely. Lets see what today brings us on the daily mail forums.

You see the lack of logic or understanding of the actual issues is clear and apparent in this post you made.

You've either not read my posts in this thread or are simply wilfully ignorant of them. Ain't no one got time for posters like that.

Having Chinese supermarkets catering to the large Chinese populations that live in the area is no different than Subway changing to halal because of the Muslim population in the area.

Apologies, lets rephrase my comment. Everywhere should stop selling bacon because people 'demand' it.

End of the day, the same point remains valid. Whether they 'demand' or 'complain'.

If lots of people stop booking a particular hotel with a tour operator (whatever the reason - religious or otherwise) then they'll drop it.
If an item on the menu in a restaurant proves unpopular it will eventually be removed.

There wasn't this level of outcry when McDonalds dropped their Supersize range, or the Mega Mac, or the Double Quarter Pounder, was there? Wasn't that due to consumer demand and pressures from the healthy eating bandwagon?

I don't understand how this is any different. People are just getting their knickers in a twist because it's religion driven, rather than some other form of cultural or individual belief system. The fact that it's Islam in particular just makes certain people more blind, hateful and prejudiced.

No it is.. it really is. its not even a comparable situation.

I'm laughing what I'm reading.

Are you unable to make objective decisions and weigh up things by yourself and make judgement calls?

Its quite sad if you are unable to do this.

Your actually saying to take a level approach to a person having faith in the bible to someone who has faith for archaeologists that have researched human skull fossils and journaled their findings for all to see?

If you can't see the difference in this, I can't be bothered to reply to you anymore.

I think it is pretty sad that you feel so righteous and can't see the massive a priori assumptions you make. Ironically, the really scientific people on this forum can provide eloquent arguments of why the believe what they do but also with a conscious knowledge of the limitations.

It is really funny that you've then applied the same argument construction as you would find so wrong with religion. That last sentence well the irony is very strong there.

At least science is happy to keep pushing the boundaries and adapt when it's proved wrong. :D

Religion seems happy to do this too.
