Ok so First post asking for advice here

My current Pc is one that I've been either given or sort of made.

CPU - E5500 2.8GHZ
Motherboard - Unknown Fijitsu one of some sort
4 GB DDR3 (3.5 useable)
Win 7 Pro 32bit V
GTX660 Graphics card
1 x 170 GB hard drive (Partinioned before I got it)

Ive got a couple of screens running off it (1 HDMI and 1DVI)
Keyboard is just the stock Fujitsu one but its comfy to use
Mouse is RAT V3

I pretty much soley play World of Tanks with a few of the mod's running on it along with the normal net / Office / music etc

I currently only get at most 30FPS on graphics set to almost low, a couple on medium

Now I think that I defo need a new motherboard / CPU and proberbly a new OS to make it 64bit for better memory use.

I'm currently saving up money to remodel this - though I do keep wondering should I just buy a new PC?

I'm open to any advice and suggestion

Ideally I'd like to play the game on full settings - and also be able to play other things like War Thunder, World of Warplanes and when it egts released World of Warships?

No set budget yet but if possiable looking at brackets of either £500 / £750 and £850 at the top end.

Current PSU is a 600 watt one (I think) though its not modular etc and the case isn't massive - think its just like your normal off the shelf midi size?

Total newbie at this though I did do the memory / Graphics card swap myself and the Dos Prompt change for the memory ammount so happy to try anything - even build from scratch but that does daunt me

Thanks for any help avilable as well - I've read a lot of the project logs and the guides here and its all been really useful to try and think which way to go.

I think a new CPU and motherboard would be good. PSU too. What case do you have?

No point spending all this money if your just going to play World of Tanks.

Get a i5, motherboard and a PSU. Will still set you back 300 quid and happy days. Game away.

I have no alligiances currently Blue /Red or Green /Red

I have thought about just a motherboard / cpu upgrade but then I look at the case and well its just a sort of stock fijitsu one. Its functional etc but in terms of upgrade space internally its tights as it as now.

Parts I think I can keep

My Graphics card - I hope?
My DVD drive

The power leads

Anything else I plug into the box

I relaise that World of Tanks is not the most demanding game, but I would like to play it to its fullest abilty and currently i can't

I have speced a ideal bunch of bits

I think that should show the cart right?

What do you think - its the far end of my budget and is basically a full rebuild but it would it be a relatively well rounded machine?

I am veiwing anew Graphics card in a year or so as well?

Edit - that sounds like a good spec there cheers for the pointers

I'll check my funds as to were I am up to on the saving front

You could use my spec but go with the Corsair C70 case instead ;) 16GB RAM isn't really necessary for gaming :)

I'd go with decads build but with a 300r, 8GB, and a H80i personally.

Might save yourself some extra pennies to go towards a new GPU then.

True but you have put the new PSU in there which the more I think about it I will need.

True 16gb may be overkill but I just thought I might as well get it out the way up front?

Case is personal preference which is why I recommended OP goes with C70 if that's what he wants. AIO coolers such as the h80i are no better than high end air coolers such as the k2 mount doom. When it's time to upgrade down the line we will probably have to go with DDR4 ;) I would stick with 8GB, will also save you a nice chunk of cash that can be used on another component.

Thank you all very much for the quick answers and guidence - didn't expect this at all.

I'll check the savings and see what I can do - but for a build plan to start with this is brill, I've been mulling a lot of this stuff over and thought about posting for ages - glad I decided to do so now

Thank you all

Yeah I hear what you are saying, just the c70 and 300r are very similar size wise but cost wise differ.

I suggested the 80i as the OP put in the 100i and for his requirements the 80i would be fine, I'm more in favour of the decent air coolers too.

But the 300r isn't sold in white ;)

Whats the sound like on that air cooler?

I don't want a really loud noisey machine like I have currently - hence my thought of one of the low end corsair 'starter' water cooled jobbies?
