The current Z87 x oc is the lower priced board which will be superceded by this model, i suspect gigabyte will be releasing a Z97 version of the PLX enabled model which will fall into the £300.00+ category, it's main competitor will be the Asus ROG maximus VII extreme. So what's the difference between this one and the non-force then? On Z87 the force has the PLX chip needed for quad-sli.
Gene does look like a nice board, though im holding out to see what the Z97 formula and extreme are like.there is also asus with their micro-ATX Maximus VII Gene board.

Im hoping that the m7f looks the same as the current 6 version, if devils canyon worked on Z87, (which is looking doubtful) id simply just replace the cpu as my current one is a bit poor. It's that or new platform or source a decent 4770k.Personally I'll be throwing my money at an m7f/m7e

From the you tube previews I have noticed that the Z97X-SOC Force and Z97X-SOC do not have an M.2 slot.
The most of other Gigabyte Z97 boards and the ROG boards do. I do not know how popular this socket/feature will be but it would have been nice to have it on the SOC boards, perhaps by removing one of the PCI slots.
