KSL Logistics - purchasing a car through 3rd party

Amazingly. As soon as I told them I wouldn't pay the 20% in advance neither of them have acknowledged or replied at all. I'll update if I get any more correspondence.

Probably 2-3k lower than rest of market. Which is a lot considering the value of the vehicle and my budget

The company has been around for 14 years, surely they wouldn't have survived by scamming people?

But what you don't know is whether or not you're actually talking to this company.

At work some time back we got scammed over £30K worth of external hard drives. A couple of guys had impersonated a French company, we checked it all out thoroughly because on the face of it the enquiry looked a bit dodgy but it all seemed legit. Even the courier they sent in to pick up the stuff was bona fide...it just turned out that we weren't talking with the French company that we thought we were...and we got scammed.

A company shipping out goods to that sort of value should really be able to avoid this sort of thing pretty easily with access to proper data.

After reading the posts again, they want you to pay then deliver the car to you? No chance! But for that sort of saving I'd happily be travelling over there for the car myself to collect.

Wish I hadn't started digging into this...

Lets see... apparently the director is Keith Richard Hill (the company apparently spawned out of K Hill Logistics) however the image for that member of staff is "antonywatson.jpg" but shows a person otherwise known as Steve Tate?

Next theres Stuart Embury who apparently is also known as Stuart Hutchings? but used to work with a Mark Embury?

Then digging into the past of the actual person who started the current incarnation of KSL Logistics shows 2 previous dissolved companies with fictional directors.

Not to mention there doesn't seem to be a single commercial premises belonging to the company?

Haven't really looked into it too hard or tried to make any sense of the information but initial scratching doesn't seem to produce anything that makes much sense.

EDIT: All the rest of the staff are just as fictional

EDIT2: Looks like a variation of the "secure" airport parking thing, the car is likely 1 of 20 cluttering up the drive and street of the residential address of one of the people behind this and likely of dubious origin and state, they probably try it on til they hit a soft target and meanwhile you'd have a ton of hassle getting the full deposit back.

Wow - and that's without trying too hard? :)

Thanks so much.

Think this is worth reporting to the police or action-Fraud?

Not sure much would come of reporting it (not to dissuade you from doing so) beyond a string of failed business ventures and fake/copy and pasted information from other websites theres not much I could see from a quick look that showed an outright scam more a misguided attempt at yet another business venture tho based on that I dare say anyone who did custom with them would likely be left none the happier for it.
