I killed Penance a few days ago but stopped playing now because I cba to catch 10 or even 1 of all the monsters in the monster arena. WHY 10? What a massive waste of time.

Played the first hour today after not having been near the game since running through it on release for the ps2. The intro its worse than I remember.

Also played the first hour or so last night. I haven't played it since it came out on ps2 either so I don't think I can remember anything from it which is good lol. Forgot the battles are different. Everyone seems to stand right next to the monsters.

I've been trying to grind the triple AP weapons. After about an hour I have 2. I thought these dropped quite regularly?

Are you fighting One-Eye? Im sure they dropped every 2-4 fights for me. Incase you don't know, the char that gets the last hit has the highest chance of the weapon drop. I ended up with about 20 weps for Rikku before I realised.

My other chars are all well underpowered compared to the 3 front runners, this will be a pain! Haha.

Beat omega easily yesterday, never fought him before, but I didn't save because I didn't complete the stupid chest mini game.

Anyone got any tips for opening the right chests?

Ok, maybe its the selection of other games i have currently but the shear ammount of random battles is taking its toll on me and as much as i want to finish this its not my game of choice at the moment.

i have just got to a big open field area (cant remeber name but it said most summoners get lost their... guess they dont have a big red arrow on their map!) any ideas how long is left to complete the story?

i have around 3000 HP for most characters so do i need to do much grinding to complete the game also or will the normal random battles do it for me?, i dont plan to max things out but i want to be strong enough to beat the story.

i enjoy the game a lot of the time when i play it but it shows that games have improved on how to do battles in RPG's, Bravely default has spoilt me with its battle systems and most other games just have the option to avoid battles or atleast see them coming.

Are you at the Calm Lands? Where they say the final fight with Sin was fought last time?
You're probably around 2/3 (maybe a bit more) of the way through.

Try and look for armour that has the No Encounter ability, that'll make it easier for you.

I've got everyones triple AP now. I used the same 3 characters for all of them, the drop rate for each weapon didn't seem to change depending on who was in my front 3.

I've nearly gone all the way round the grid with Tidus. It's going to take so long to fill out the whole thing!

Ultima Buster doesn't even rank on the scale of hard bosses. I'm assuming you mean Nemesis, who is actually pretty easy.

For me the hardest bosses in the game are probably Dark Magus Sisters and Bahamut.

Penance isn't really that hard, it's just really bloody long, considering you should have maxed stats by the point you fight him as you've had to deal with the Aeons.

All the fights are easy if you have the right stats and strategy. Magus Sisters are especially easy if you fight them one by one. I only maxed strength, defence, magic defence, 230 agility and about 130 luck on 3 characters to kill Penance

Raised my luck to around 140 for each of my main 3 (Yuna, Rikku and Tidus) and have been farming Yojimbo for Dark Matter. Every quick attack lands without fail

Only need another 10 and I can get ribbon on one of my armours.
For the next ribbon I just need a few more Tonberry (Omega Dungeon) to get 5 of every creature, that'll give me 99 Dark Matters.

Then spam Yojimbo again for the 3rd ribbon

Has anyone managed to beat Dark Bahamut?!
I'm really struggling against him, I beat Anima with ease but Bahumat is kicking my arse everytime.

I don't want to use Zanmato as that's just a cheap victory
