***The Official Battlefield 4 Thread***

I've never teamed up constantly play by myself, usually why I just stick to TDM as I am rather casual gaming wise lately.

Conquest is so frustrating when playing with randoms, Just now I saved some dudes bottom he was getting shot from behind I killed the shooter he turned around and acknowledged me I then go to jump in the tank he is going for.. he turns it around and goes to drive off! So i'm spamming (need a ride) and then spraying at his tank to stop him.. nope no use!

I then jump in a tank and see 4 enemy's running across the map together I take one out and begin to aim and shoot the others this guy just drives off towards a tank at the other side of the map going over every bump on the map.

I could go on and on and on, no team work what so ever even with it being randoms you'd think being gamers we would pull together considering the game mode.
 
I've seen some that say they are owned by dice rather than someone's PSN name.

If they are dices servers and not just another glitch I have to say I'm surprised because I thought they'd only run map pack/vanilla only servers.

towards the end of BF3s life they did introduce new playlists that were across multiple expansion packs.

If I have no fellow Ocuk geeks online to play with I'll hop between squads until I find one that seems to be co-operating with one another. Makes for better play than everyone swanning off doing their own thing. Shame people don't really talk on there though.
 
Yeah that surprised me too, I mean even Call of Duty has plenty of mics plugged in (Not usually for the right reasons) but some communication at times. Think on only one occasion I have come across a guy or two talking other than babys crying.
 
Well, it turns out these private servers aren't so great. If you're kicking ass and people don't like that, you get banned! Losers.
 
was always the biggest problem with rented BF3 servers

stupid rules designed to give the server owner an advantage (eg if they like piloting then there would be a rule saying you can't shoot choppers down) or just good old fashioned badmins who kick you for being too kid.

Having said that, I did once kick a tank crew who were driving me up in the wall in BF3 on seine crossing. Every time their vehicle got near destoryed, they'd rush back and go hide in their uncap. Repair, and then come back out again. It was such a lame tactic hiding in theuncap like that but still a perfectly valid one, even if annoying.

I kicked them, but later felt guilty because of it. Closest I ever came to being a badmin.
 
that too. and those that had the audacity to knife the admin.

This stuff still happens on PC too, but because there are only rented servers theres plenty more that aren't run by badmins.
 
Lag is still all over this game and in consistant, bullet STILL catchinug up to me long after I have found cover.

Sound issues still there, indoors people shooting at me and no sounds of guns, still no sounds at the start of getting into verhicals

Weapon's all over the show, still getting picked off by two bullets on certain weapons from hundreds of yards away with suppressors, had a PDW kill me from a skyscraper top in one game.

Are they actually doing anything to fix this now or have they just given up?

They have a community test environment on the PC that they've just announced. The PC gamers are testing this update the minute:

PATCH DAY
Today we will patch both server and client on the CTE. This will mean some server downtime. You will also have to update your CTE client in Origin to join servers once they are up again.

PATCH CONTENTS
This patch includes:

Fix for explosion packs not being shootable sometimes
Fix for reducing damage mismatch between client/server
Fix for third person player orientation mismatch
Character collision improvements
Improvements for client side packet loss
Various server performance improvements
High Frequency/High Priority update (“Tickrate” improvements)
A new network update for high priority second to second gameplay (damage states, player position, projectiles, player stance etc). This update is per client specific and updates an area around each player. Initially we will test running this update at 30hz for everyone. This update runs on top of the current update run in the game today as a complement.
NOTE: This might cause problems for you (stalling, rubberbanding etc) if your internet connection can’t keep up – let us know in the forums

WHAT ARE WE TESTING?
With this patch, we are gathering data about server performance and comparing it against what we got from the first 24 hours of play. So that means we will keep running the same map (Hainan Resort Conquest 64) for a clean set of comparable data.

Secondly we’re testing any potential follow-up issues these changes might bring us – what is no longer working the way it used to before (if anything)?
Be creative, do things to try and make the system behave weirdly, an example would be to test sniping from far-far away and see what the player on the receiving end experiences (as the new high frequency update has a range limit).

looks good.

Too little too late however. And You can bet £10 that they will forget all these lessons they learnt and won't have this for the next battlefield game at launch. Just like how BF4 launched without a host of stuff we had in BF3.
 
The AV forums server is a decent one to play on.

I used to play on their server on the 360. It was a good server. The server we were on the other night is good as well - BCUK.
Us lot on here should all chip in for a server. Now they've fixed the issues I won't mind paying.

All Dice games have had poor netcode so thats never going to get solved, it was no better in BF3 at the end than it is now in regards to being killed in cover.

The PDW one isn't a bug, you can't tell how many bullets hit you so it will be more than 2 and you can snipe with an PDW if you learn how the drop works etc.

I haven't had a drop of lag in 2 weeks, ps4 player and play across many servers - usually CQ large.

It still has issues but generally its amazing at the moment, much better game than BF3 IMO
 
played a bit of rush today and it seems to be playing quite well now, I haven't fallen through the floor yet today so that's a good things.
It just seems that hit detection/damage is only working about 50% of games. In rush if we're defending I do amazing and kill people really fast, but if we're attacking my bullets are like plastic bb's doing little to no damage.
 
lol...guy on the other team just went 60-0 staying in an attack copter and never taken out thanks to the stupid idea that having repair buddies is a good idea.

Less and less skill required for this game.

Client side hit detection does mean that the other guy actually hit you though.
 
What use is that to me when the game is a whores abortion now.
WHo cares what the guy shooting me sees, so essentially we are call getting about 2-3 shots on people without the other person ever knowing it!?

Seriously, how are people accepting of this?

Loadouts arnt saving again between games.

LMAO...good god the way the game goes into single FPS when a aprt of the hotel falls apart on Resort..they still havnt fixed that either?
