**The big ol' Z97 thread!**

Quite surprised to see the ranger in the asus lineup tbh, i only expected to see a refreshed version of the hero. Roll on next month so we can see how the full fat ROG formula/extreme perform.

As of May 07, the GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming G1-WiFi-BK Black Edition motherboard was available pre-order at Newegg.com for $349.99.

Yet that dollar sign has been directly swapped for a pound sign over here.

$349.99 = £207.80 + tax @ 20% = ~£250. Nice to see we're being royally shafted in favour of the weak dollar again.

No extreme for Z97, there will be a formula.
Both are supposed to be unveiled at computex next month, and i wouldnt be surprised if there will be an ITX version later too. Same happened with the Z87 series, hero, gene etc first, formula and extreme a bit later with the impact being the last to be released in ITX form factor.

Your using 1 GPU and buy xtreme board!! This tells us all everything we need to know!!! They all overclock the same?? Not in my experience.

Reviewers!! Oh dear!!!

Who is US and WE, you know 8pack many here inc myself do not give a monkeys what you think or say?

I said "nearly the same", its 90% about the CPU today.

Some of the things you come out with are pure crazy.

You sure like to post crazy crap in peeps threads but do not like others having an option.

Think it was Formula II that was top model in past, Extreme name came later with newer series.
Is that pre X58? As there were 2 extreme models from that series, rampage 2 and 3. Followed then on Z77 with the maximus V extreme.

I had the (mistake also), 680, then 1 week with a 780 then swapped to Intel Chipsets and never looked back.

The Mobo above (I added pic) is P45 (I forget all socket/model names).

I skipped through that long Asus YT video, JJ says they dropped white accents but it still seems to have them and that red portion of PCB will not be seen once VRM sink is fitted.

I do agree with him to get rid (or make modular IMO) the video outputs (esp so many) that I would never use on a Rog mobo to get more items in the I/O panel.

My MFIV had none but this one has them all so no room for ESATA.

Anyone know what the difference between the asus z97 deluxe and deluxe nfc/wireless . as It's over £100 more for an xtra module?

They do:

1 x NFC EXPRESS 2 box with 2 extra USB 3.0 ports + NFC EXPRESS tag + ASUS NFC EXPRESS utility
1 x external USB 3.0 cable for NFC EXPRESS 2 (120cm)
1 x Wireless Charger
1 x micro USB-to-USB cable for Wireless Charger (120cm)
1 x power adapter for Wireless Charger (5V DC, 2A, 10W)
1 x ThunderboltEX II/DUAL card *5
1 x ASUS TB header cable (linked from an ASUS motherboard's TB header to ThunderboltEX II/DUAL card's TB header)
1 x ASUS TB header convertor (9-pin to 5-pin)
1 x DisplayPort cable *6
1 x mini DisplayPort Cable *6
1 x Q-connector(s) (2 in 1)

So looks like it has a Thunderbolt expansion card, wireless charging pad, nfc pad and the nfc keyfob (tag) along with the needed cables for each.
