Graphic Card Upgrade.

The extra 2GB will not make a difference with performance unless you're running a resolution over 1080p. Personally, I would go for the 780, if you're unable to get a 780 (second hand is a lot cheaper), go for a 770/280x!

Surely, a 770 or 280X would be a more substantial upgrade than a 760. Have a look at this PowerColor R9 280X TurboDUO 3GB for £209.99* (this is a weekly deal). It has an extra GB of memory versus the 760 you were eyeing and this card has aftermarket cooling too.

+1 R9 280X is more than enough for almost anything on 1080p and the deals are very good as well. Bear in mind that the Powercolor might have a coil whine but it might not as well. I do have a VTX3D which has an identical PCB with the Powercolor and I have coil whine. Not too intrusive but still a coil whine.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I shoud've mentioned I will be playing a fully modded Skyrim with enb's.

As a 780 is way out of my price range, and I'd never go for second hand where a graphics card is concerned I think I'll stick with ATI this time round.

Will either of these:

be a decent upgrade and be able to run a heavily modded (200+) with the better enb's? (I'm put off the Powercolor card at the mention of coil whine).

Thanks for your time.

My budget is £250 and I'm gaming at 1080p. That's a nice card but I'm stretching myself to afford the £250, and you know the old saying: Happy wife, happy life lol ;)

280 or 280x ... 280 if you want to sleep in the bed .. 280x if you're ok with the couch :D
