I struggle to comprehend anything that is more backwards than this. The woman basically got hauled up on adultary charges for marrying a Christian because someone decided she's a muslim. When she pointed out she's not, a muslim they're now doing her for apostasy!

The only beacon of civility is that they're postponing the sentence for 2 years because she's pregnant.

It makes me angry, but I’m fully aware of the atrocities that can occur where religious law is concerned so it doesn't surprise me. Which is quite sad really.

It is sickening that this occurs all over such "civil"isations, they are stuck 500 years in the past in comparison. What can you do though? Who has the right to step in and say “stop, you can’t do this”? Sure the UN can maybe intervene, but they can’t change Islamic law.

Hopefully the media attention will pressure them to withdraw the sentence.

It's written in the Hadith, and if your living in a place where these things are taken literally, then death for apostasy is what you can expect for rejecting the faith.

Isn't this what muslims want to backdoor into uk law, ime leave islam and be automatically excluded from your families will etc small steps you might think. But one must walk but he can run.

Now imagine that the power of Islamic brotherhood was strong enough that uk muslims could, instead of baying for halal they could stand together against oppressive regines such as this and paint islam in a progressive light. Yet they do not. Nor will they.
