I also believe in killzone when your low on health the light bar turns red, etc. Indicating danger.

Theirs also the speaker built into the controller for reading audio logs in killzone and resogun makes use of it too. I don't think the XB1 has a speaker inside the controller.

All these features come as "standard" it's part of the new controller, etc. Since the cost of a controller is around £45 I don't feel as if we are paying a premium for such things like a £100 kinect, you get a controller for free with the console anyway at it's normal RRP and you need a controller to play games, etc.

The light bar can now also be dimmed, should you feel it's not useful to you. I would prefer an option to turn it off but at least Sony have accommodated us plasma users with dimming options.

As for volume the TV is in charge of that not the console, or I have a MIXAMP with a control on it for when I'm using a headset. The PS4 doesn't come with a HDMi input so it cannot work with cable/sky and never will do because it was never designed that way if it had been then I imagine yes their would also be voice commands for these things, but since it doesn't have the main feature needed to do that then no it cannot do it.

It's a bit like saying I can fast forward blu rays on my ps3 can you do that on the 360? When everyone knows the 360 cannot even play blu rays in the first place.
 
What a shambles, I cant possibly comprehend how Microsoft has messed this up so much after the 360, unless it was pure arrogance.

They HAVE to make this E3 count, because their brand is so damaged now I wouldn't want to touch a XBONE regardless of exclusives.

Voice Control to HDMI-CEC could easily control any device in the HDMI chain, but not all devices support it right now - thats why Kinect features an IR blaster...

Don't really get that... currently the One has the better catalogue of exclusives, with the better controller (still). I don't think the brand is damaged, moreso that there's some strange obsession with barely noticeable resolution differences between the 2 platforms.

Anyone that has an interest in gaming must be mad to miss out on (and I hate to bang on about it), Forza, Dead rising and titanfall. Absolute madness!

Getting rid of Kinect is a massive mistake. It's a brilliant piece of kit and it actually works this time around, rather than the beta test that was Kinect 1.

Strange that someone with pioneer in their name (a high end company who try to make the best products possible) thinks the resolution differences are barely noticeable. If that is so then I take it there's no point buying a pioneer head unit for my car over sony as the difference is barely noticeable as well? Should I stay away from pioneer amps and headphones too because the difference to other makes is also barely noticeable?

If people want quality and can notice the difference then they can justify buying the better product because it suits them.

You could bang on about it being madness that if your interested in gaming then playing all multiplats on an inferior machine with inferior res/fps is also madness especially if you own a quality TV, etc. Your also going to miss out on Drive Club, Gran Turismo, Infamous, Uncharted, The Last of Us, etc, etc.

I've never really been a fan of exclusives anyway, most games I buy/play tend to be multiplats. Sure I do enjoy some exclusives but the competition no doubt has a similar game in their catalogue anyway albeit may be slightly inferior but then who cares if most of the other games are superior on that console, you can live with a couple of inferior options.

If you can afford it buying both consoles is obviously the best if you can justify owning both, otherwise just buy the one that is right for you.

If you can notice the difference in graphics/res/fps and you value quality, then that console is obviously the more powerful one.

As I see it there's no reason currently for me to buy a XB1, I can wait for the PS4 exclusives which should trounce the XB1 exclusives simply because it is a far more powerful console.

Also War Thunder the best game I've played so far isn't available on XB1.
 
If someone cant see the difference in quality from a Xbox One 720p game with no AA to a PS4 1080p game with AA they may as well stick with the 360 surely?

What does an Xbox One give you extra over a 360 - a couple of exclusives with average reviews and a slightly different interface? All for several hundred quid more. Bargain.

1) Gran Turismo has been terrible since 4. Drive Club is clearly going to be naff purely based on the delays it's had.

2) Infamous isn't actually as good as people seem to make out.

3) The Last of Us.... played that last gen. Whilst nice that it'll be on PS4, it's hardly a new experience.

4) If you've missed all the exclusives over the years, you've missed some of the best games out there!!

5) War Thunder.... :o It's horrendously awful. Graphics, gameplay, interface, controls, all terrible.


Without looking it up, please tell me the resolution of GTA V on PS3 and 360.

What One game is 720p without AA?

i'd rather have the One version that uses the better controller and has additional kinect interation.

personally i dont think just because the ps4 has more power will automatically make a poor game any better. end of the day if a game is mince doesnt matter if its running on a ps1 or a high spec gaming pc the hardware just aint going to make it any better

1080/60 fps is now how games are defined, didnt you know ;)

A crap game running at 1080/60fps is still a crap game.
 
Better hardware doesn't automatically mean a better game, but the ps4 potential is more then x1 and there will be games for ps4 that'll be mouth watering gorgeous to look at and have the gameplay to match.

Wii u isn't the better hardware of the two, ps4 and x1 but it's recently had reviews for Mario kart 8 and its sweeping the board. weaker hardware, massively praised game that looks excellent and appears to be great fun to play.

x1 in its current form though is a mixed machine. it tried to be an all in one games media, motion control machine, but and I'll be jumped on for this. its pretty much failed to be any of those other then being a mediocre media player comparable to a ps3, mediocre games machine with fun exclusives compare to a Wii u and its not a powerful gamers machine comparable to a ps4.

it's a mediocre machine at this moment in time that I feel has got an identity issue. one that ms aren't helping with. first it was all in one, now it's being broken up and were being told games for core gamers are its focus, but sadly it's got a long way to go yet.

x1 I feel is too messy at this time for me to buy one. but it'll hopefully mature and settle and find its place , and I don't like to miss out on fun games.its a hobby , owning more then one machine isn't unheard of, obviously if you can only afford one, then you go with what you feel is best for you, but for now IMO x1 needs to sort itself out before I seriously consider one.

ps4 IMO offers the best value for money followed by Wii u for the best exclusives even if you don't like what Nintendo offer, it's still got better exclusives.

titanfall can be played on a 360 or a pc, forza 5 just didn't seem enough for me to consider it when it launched.

jsut a few, but those commands alone make the XO feel pretty good to use, no mucking about with buttons etc, I think Kinect will still be fine, certainly those most advanced thing about this gen, jsut needed a really killer game for it from the outset, that we didnt get.

It is rubbish and even MS don't have confidence in it now, there 's zero chance of a killer game for it and with it not being mandatory developers are not going to make a game that will only reach a percentage of the Xbone users..
 
in our house we have both the X1 and ps4 and the ps4 hardly gets used at the moment, im actually fed up with my son complaining theres never any games for it new and can he trade it in for X1. what put me off the ps4 was we purchased one for my sons xmas and he couldnt actually use it till the 10th feb due to the stupid blue light of death or whatever it gets called.

whats hilarious?? the fact that members of my house prefer to use the X1 to the PS4 and i personally prefer to play forza 5, titanfall and DR3 rather than infamous and the other couple of games that my son owns???

so basically your laughing at me as i chose to spend my own money on what i wanted/preferred??

or was it the fact my son got a ps4 on xmas day and couldnt use it for 7 weeks or so due to sonys incompetance?? at least with the RROD as long as i had the receipt and kicked up a fuss in the shop they changed it the same day i took it back

also if i really wanted to play any given game bar exclusives in 1080/1200/1440 etc i would just get them for the pc instead.
