So taking your opinions to there logical conclusion.
Oh wow, genuine face in palm here. Ok lets begin

Anyone entering the country for any reason, require to have a full background check.
full background checks for anyone who is coming here on a work visa, wanting to immigrate here, have no passport or claiming asylum. Everyone coming here with a UK passport or there own passport with the appropriate visa will continue to have the same checks as before.

Your basically arguing to close the borders and for the UK to act like a 3rd world dictatorship.
Nope, when are you going to stop with the ridiculous hyperbole, or is that all you have?

You do know the damage that would cause to tourism and business.
Not if you have a streamlined checking system that doesn't hold things up, US seems to do fine, why can't we?

Don't ever go on holiday to Canada or the USA. The USA used to use iris recognition don't know if they still do.
And as soon as you entre the USA you're on their computer there and then for life.
And that info is shared between all states just in case ;)

USA takes your prints on entry - Iris matching is voluntary to speed things up (e.g. if you visit often)

We do take prints as well when deemed neccessary

people saying full background check for everyone - LOL

32.8 million visitors last year

you would need bazillions of people and moneys to make that work
have you seen the news reports about the current border force problems and backlogs of asylum seekers - and you want to make it worse?!

again

LOLLLLLL

As for the War Graves photo - its disrespectful because you have no idea what those people fought for - unless ukip did a survey before they died?
Attributing your opinion to a noble cause like WW2 is a classic BNP technique (although they are just as bad at it - Polish spitfire squadrons on leaflets lol)

Have you ever heard of the Visa Waiver Program? This allows almost free travel between participating countries for business and tourism.

What you are suggesting is to scrap this and return to applying for Visa's, this would not only mean people entering the country we would have to apply for visa's when traveling to any of the participating countries.

That didn't happen when I went there in 2012, or the finger prints. Mind you, I didn't go through the tourists /non-us residents check so they might have been there.

You did know that if you need one in the USA you have to pay for it.

In the USA it's called the ESTA now, and you do it online.

That didn't happen when I went there in 2012, or the finger prints. Mind you, I didn't go through the tourists /non-us residents check so they might have been there.

It was when I was leaving home to come back here(2006) I noticed people having it done.

You make that sound like it's a bad thing.

The reality is very few people can "up & go continent" on a whim. You need to book time off work, make sure the cat is looked after etc.

That covers the time needed to get a visa.

So although technically you can "up & go" at a moments notice in reality you can't.

I went to the US (Boston) June 2013. Had to do this https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/

International travelers who are seeking to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) are now subject to enhanced security requirements and will be required to pay an administrative fee. All eligible travelers who wish to travel to the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program must apply for authorization and then pay the fee using the following process:

I'm sure part of it was a criminal record check.

Iris is great for quick capture and match - (convenient) but not great for picking up criminals (you don't leave your irises behind at a crime scene)

We (UK) do print matching on the borders, but id say its underfunded and under utilized (its an expensive and complicated system even on a small scale)

That is truly disgusting, is that an actual leaflet? If so I'm gobsmacked.

The double lol here being that those are French graves :D (The more rectangular graves in the bottom right are the only British ones)

I find the tendency of the nationalistic xenophobes on the right to invoke those who died fighting the ultra-nationalistic xenophobic Nazis particular contemptible.
