Not so much here on OCUK, almost everyone got it right and backed BD on this forum. But absolutely so in a couple of forums a frequented back then where it was much more of an 50/50 split, they were suckered onto HD-DVD because they bought the add on for the 360.
Abstaining, due to no one really worth voting for.
Hopefully UKIP don't win, I don't feel as though they are a step forward, if I had to vote it would be Tory, but I don't agree with some of their policies. Hence the abstaining.

There isn't a rolleyes big enough for this post. Such hero's you think you are for battling the nazi UKIP scum from power, spreading nasty fascist propaganda. Thank you for rescuing us from them. Without you European criminals wouldn't be able to gain access to the UK and continue to rape and murder, without you poor unemployed wouldn't be able to come here and scrounge of our hard earned tax pounds.
I know, it is unfortunate. People from all walks of life and political background are opposed to the UKIP so their votes will be divided. Someone who is anti UKIP is pretty much equally likely to be tory or labour (apart form a very small minority of tories). Those that want a difference will be equally likely to vote green or lib dem.
It is not a race, the euro elections are PR based so by increasing votes for any party other than UKIP will reduce UKIP % and thus seats. Of course it would probably be best for them to vote labour or conservative depending on which party will likely poll the strongest in their area.
Best solution would be a form of positive negative voting. You get 1 positive vote for you most favorite party and 1 negative vote for your least favourite. Negative votes get subtracted, so a parties policy must not only appeal to the most it must be offensive to the least. Or having an order of the top 3/4/5 parties

Voted this morning at just gone 10AM. Polling station is the local village church. Seemed quite quiet up there this morning, but I guess it's because it's the Euros and no-one gives a monkeys unlike a proper general election. As always in the village I was about a third of the age of everyone else

EU immigrants paid more in taxes than they received in benefits. As for rapes and murders, most are committed by non-EU immigrants:

Unlike your analogy, the views on the outcome on the voting matter are subjective. The BD example was clear cut factual but in this instance the matter is on your own opinion. You don't even know what the outcome of a UKIP win here and in the GE election will possibly result in for the country and whether it will be of any benefit to you at all.

For me is comes down to a straight choice between Labour and the Greens. UKIP, BNP and the other racist parties were right out from the start. The Tories and the Lib Dems are busy trashing our country so they're out. I don't even know what the 'Harmony Party' is about. So that left Labour and the Greens.
In the end, I chose to vote Labour for two main reasons: firstly, polling data shows support for the Greens in the East Midlands languishing around 3-5% of the vote whereas around 10% is needed to get an MEP so they'd be unlikely to get in anyway and, secondly, and more importantly the result of these elections will determine who gets to be President of the European Commission. This is determined by which of the party blocks in the EU parliament gets the most MEPs and comes down to a fight between the EPP (the right wing block) and the PASD (the left wing block of which Labour is a member). The EPP currently holds a large lead, but a big swing back to the left is considered likely by pollsters and since Cameron was idiot enough to pull the Tories out of the EPP there's a good chance that a handful of extra Labour MEPs could help swing the Presidential election to the left.

Going by polling, UKIP are in 2nd place to Labour based on preference to vote but 1st after weighting for likelyhood to vote. Accordingly a uniform increase in turn-out should favour Labour and harm UKIP. Also UKIP's vote is more geographically uniform than Labour and the Tories (outside of Scotland where UKIP are nowhere) and while that makes less difference in the European Elections than in general elections it is still likely to make the UKIP vote translate less effectively into seats than either Labour or Conservative.
