What framerate would a stock or overclocked 780 or 780 Ti get when compared to my Msi 290 gaming on the level in this video of Crysis 3 with the same settings?

A gtx780 would be no better and a stock 780ti maybe 15-20% faster. It's not really a question that can be answered correctly unless someone with a similar machine to yours and a 780/780ti runs it.

All depends how far that particular 780/ti overclocks. Most AiB 780's wil lhit reference ti speeds alright but its not guaranteed, But your 290 also has quite a bit if your lucky O/c potential in aswell so all in all for most games depending on which o/c's the most a 290=780 , 290x's/ti iirc add like 15-20% more

Even if someone had a more overclocked system I wonder would it be as much as 15%-20% difference with a 780Ti stock or overclocked.

I can overclock it to 1100/1400 but it does not make much of a difference in Crysis 3.

Well yes assuming all things equal on the silicone lottery a TI will o/c just as far as a 780 so the difference stays the same

A 780ti at 1080p is usually around 10% quicker than a 290x. The 290 is usually clocked lower than the 290x and around 5-10% slower so i am guestimating the gap at 15-20%. It's not that much in fps though. If you are running at 50fps the ti is only at 60fps.

After watching that at 1100mhz on the 290 you are basically running around 780ti speed.

Maybe a overclocked 780ti might only run 5% or 2-3 fps better going by that depending on how much overclocking a Ti gain's in fps compared to a 290. Overclocking mine from 1050/1250 to 1100/1400 in Crysis 3 only gains 2 fps at the most.

I agree with the thread, a 780 will make no difference, a 290X would add 2 FPS, a 780TI another 2 FPS.

The only way your going to get a substantial increase is by going Crossfire / SLI.

I will get some crossfire footage up similar to your video OP so you can see what extra a second card will offer you, minus the performance hit for recording of course though. I'm having trouble getting my recording software (Mirillis Action) to pick up my msi afterburner overlay though for some reason.

Ti would clock the higher than the others. It's also the fastest to begin with. Would you notice the difference in one particular game? Not really. One Ti is still not enough to get an acceptable frame rate at 1440p in Crysis 3 with 4xmsaa.

There does not seem to be any recording hit using Radeonpro.

Is there one while recording crossfire? That would be good to see crossfired 290 on the same level.

I use Mirillis Action because well, i paid for it. :D

There is a performance hit, but as long as you have fps to spare it does not matter too much. The quality is good though and the file sizes are small, so it makes up for it. It's also recorded in Youtube format so the conversions are quicker.

I just looked at the OP's video and realised im running x4 MSAA instead of FXAA, but aside from that our settings are identical. Will be ready soonish (10-20Mins), youtube is taking forever to upload.
