Not so relevant now, but a few years ago (more like 10...) I went to one of these as Agent Smith from the Matrix. Nice and easy, grey suit, white shirt, black tie, earpiece, sunglasses, slicked back hair.

I did two face for one of these. Bought a suit for a tenner at a charity shop and burnt one side of it then used my gf's makeup to do the face. Job done!
