** RAIJINTEK MORPHEUS - HIGH PERFORMANCE VGA COOLER **

No way. I just strapped an Alpenfohn Peter to my R9 290.

Some advice on the VRM temps. Four small heatsinks work better than a big one with the right airflow when Uncle Petey Tested it with the similar Peter cooler.

Maybe a T shape VRM Heatsink for the Tripple VRM.

With the Right VRM sinks this might beat the Peter

I would have bought this if it came out earlier :(

I have two Morpheus coolers. I will sell one for half price to someone willing to provide pictures, testing results and their honest impressions in this thread when they get it.

how does that sound?

I've got a Powercolor 7970 out of warranty with a reference 'blower' cooler I replaced with an Arctic Accelero Xtreme III so did some comparison benches... Have a good camera too (pics on second page) ;)

Thanks for the tip

I guess one of those instances where the bigger fan traps the hot air so it can't exhaust...

I think it's more to do with the 92mm fan being able to focus everything at the heatsink/pcb (as you can see, they're a perfect fit). The larger fans usually have larger hubs (and therefore deadzone) and the best part of their airflow at the outer edge simply misses the target.

Well, something like that anyway :D

Could this passively cool say a 660?

Doubt it. a 65w 750Ti can be passively cooled, just. GTX660 is going to be sucking around 100-120w under load - even a cooler this big won't cope with that.

Would you expect to passively cool a FX-8320? similar power consumption at stock.

I've received a box today... Thanks Rich & Steve! ;)

I'll be testing the Morpheus alongside the reference 'blower' cooler, an Arctic Accelero XtremeIII and possibly an NZXT Kraken X10 (with an Antec Kuhler H20 650) on my 7970.

Tests I have in mind are: general desktop, 20 mins of BF4, 20 mins of hashing (scrypt) and the performance within Heaven.

Any other tests you guys want results from? Ideally nothing time consuming as I'm attempting to do all tests on the same day (with close ambient temps) at stock and a slight overclocked settings (that I know my card can handle on the stock cooler).

My conclusion and test info will be online sometime after the 10th as I'm away next week on hols :)

On all but EVGA yes, inc Asus but OCUK have a arrangement with one other vendor that you can remove the cooler if bought here, think its MSI (cannot remember 100%).

I've actually checked with MSI staff on their forums and they confirmed that you can remove the cooler to change the thermal paste on their cards- apparently the 'warranty void' stickers are only there to deter people from randomly taking off the cooler without thinking and damaging the card. I also confirmed this with OCUK before I changed the thermal paste on one of my MSI 280X's. It would follow therefore that you could fit a water block as well without affecting the warranty :)

My findings so far, bear in mind the last week or 2 ambient temps have been all over the place so I will do some re-testing & will be filling in the gaps and replacing some temps with ambient around 21 degrees (which it should be most of this week & hopefully weekend!). Sorry things are taking so long Rich! :(

Will also be testing stock cooler (quite warm on this card!) and then a Kraken X10 (with H20 650) sometime in the future.

Some info is better than none right ;)

Note the differences in ambient temps.

And the temps & scores from benchmarks.

Not very pretty but I'll do some graphs when I have some more accurate comparisons... Conservative estimate is an average 5-10 degrees drop on the Arctic Acellero Xtreme III - which is already an incredible cooler!:eek:

Do you have any temps for BF4 using this cooler & a single card?
