Have you used a driver cleaner tool? I think some of them remove or damage the visual C files. Try to repair or reinstall them.

yeah i used a cleaner tool. visual c files? explain more please obi wan :D

I don't know much about this, its just ive heard. Just google repair/reinstall visual c and see what you can find.

In future, uninstall the amd drivers normally first. Then run DDU, restart into safe mode and let it clean. Doing it other ways can give you the problem you just encountered.

Sorry reinstalled them and still not getting anywhere this is the log

Exactly what I had

I did a system restore to a previous point (before using DDU) and 14.6 installed fine.

and trust me, ignoring it does not result in the drivers being installed

Have you tried doing an install but going custom instead of express and only installing one or two things at a time until everything is installed?

Sounds laborious but would help troubleshoot. I had an issue with a Windows N installation where because it was N some older AMD drivers couldn't install one of the packages, and so express failed every time, troubleshooting it like that helped me figure out what was wrong.

*EDIT*

NVM the list actually says it's the display driver itself and audio driver that failed to install.

yeah tried them individually still having difficulties. Can fudge a bad install but cant get the sound drivers on the card to work in more than 2 channel. Yes my amp supports 7.1 pcm blah blah

Oddly i get further through the process on the BETA than the stable one...

i had them working before but as watchdogs has come out i thought id update and all i have had now is ****! I HATE AMD!

I've had similar problems on my AMD machine with windows 8 and 8.1

if driver sweepers and restore points don't work, the next port of call is a windows reset

and if that doesn't even work, a full reinstall
