I am thinking of taking my wife over to Ireland for a few days. She has always wanted to go there. However I know nothing about Ireland and nor does she lol. Where are the best places to visit? Any nice things to do while there? Is there any type of tour holidays there? And can we travel to Ireland with just a driving license or do we need passports?

Thanks

Drink Guinness? :p

On a more serious note, I would recommend Giants Causeway. I'm not sure you'll need passports, but would take them just encase, you cannot always be sure!

Dublin is a lovely city with plenty to do and failing that you can just sit drinking proper Guinness in a pub with table service which they all seem to do so no need to move!

Also the police playing their annual game of British bulldog with a line of land-rovers and "who can catch the plastic bullet in your face and complain the the Ombudsman fastest" championship.

giants causeway is northern ireland very pricey car park, tehnically no need for a passport but if your flying then youll need one. taking a ferry is ok. theres castles about and the coast road is a pretty easy way to navigate antrim.

if you go antrim then theres a few nice forests, castles and glens all along the coast, carrickfergus and dunluce spring to mind.

down south dublin is a good shoutout. plenty to see and do.

if you take a ferry, a car, and a satnav then youll be pretty
much able to go anywhere with no passport, just remember if you go down south the speed limits are kmh not mph.
