Absolutely shocked and gutted, just heard the news now :(

One of my favourite comedians ever, grown up watching The Young Ones and Bottom.

On the news they said he never recovered from an earlier quad bike accident but didn't say anything more.

:( He was my comedy idol when I was a teenager. So sad that he's gone :(

Funniest things I saw him in was Mr Jolly lives next door & the Bottom Episode 'Digger'

I laughed until I cried at both these shows.

My thoughts go to his wife & three kids.

Make them laugh up there Rik. :(
 
I absolutely loved his work as a kid, purely because it was so downright stupid (mainly Bottom). Only when I watched them again recently did I get half the jokes! A true legend. Not often it hurts when a "celebrity" passes away, but this one really hurt to see.

I remember being rather upset after his quad bike accident as a kid too. Amazed to see him recover from that.

RIP Rik. :(
 
I'm gutted :(. I saw this whilst watching the news. Like so many others, he was one of my favourite comedians growing up, he was part of so many great comedy series/sketches.

RIP Rick! Always remember your Bad News album played in our 6th Form Common Room, especially their rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody!
