***** The Official Division Thread *****

Apparently a 2015 release date is "optimistic" for this game and the PS4 version is the console version to get as the Snowdrop Engine works better on the PS4. Sauce

I think that worth taking that with a huge pinch of salt, way too early to make such a decision when its likely this will have its 3rd outing at E3 next year. How Ubisoft deliver/support Watchdogs is probably more pertinent IMHO

Isn't the engine built for next gen? The videos make the game look amazing. I really hope it lives up to the hype.

Yup, the new Snowdrop engine was designed for next-gen, so I'm (very) quietly hopeful that the end product will look similar to what we're seeing in the videos now. It really does look like an exceptionally fun game, I can't wait to see more of it as we get closer to release next year.

this is ubisoft though, so i'm not expecting it to look like that on release.

We may get lucky, and it might look like that. But even if it doesn't, the whole RPG / FPS / MMO mix they have got going on is unique and will make it a genuinely groundbreaking game.

The PC version might have a chance on Ultra at a guess, but the consoles wont - the vast majority of Ubi stuff (anything multiplat) is first demoed is on a PC rig so while they arent explicit (I dont really see they need to be) then its a given thats the platform they are demoing...

The possible gameplay sells it to me, and tbh Im more worried Ive made up stuff about what it might do than particularly worry it wont look like it does today on PS4

regardless of the graphics, i'll still be buying it

Like I said, the mix of MMO / RPG / FPS they have is unique. Not seen anything like it before and I think it's going to be mega fun to play, regardless of how good it looks

It looks like my perfect type of game. This is my most 'hyped for' game of this gen. I do believe it will look better than watch dogs as it's not being developed for previous gen and the engine is built from the front up for the current consoles.

It's going to be a long wait and I really hope it lives up to the hype.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. Being set in New York, my favourite city in the world, is just a bonus for me. The 2nd video shows that they're actually modelling New York fairly accurately as well (though not perfectly, understandably), which I know I'll love if it lets me roam around the places I've been in real life (I stayed in a hotel one block away from where the 2nd video finishes).

Have they said how accurately they're recreating Manhattan? It'd be pretty awesome if I could go to the part of Central Park where I got married last year :)

New York is an amazing place, I do hope they do a really good recreation of it too.

The Division looks amazing, like, genuinely astounding. However the changes in visuals and some of the changes to the game play of Watch_Dogs has left a bitter taste, so I'll unfortunately hold off until I've seen a lot of reviews (that hopefully are out before release).

Nope, no word on how accurately, or even how much of Manhattan they'll recreate. I would be amazed if it were the entire island though, surely that's too much to recreate properly. I wouldn't be surprised if it were only certain sections of Manhattan, with the roads being blocked off and making you travel undergound to get around the city.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting them to recreate the restaurant we went to for the post wedding meal, but hopefully at least some of central park is on their list.
