Anyone think Wagamama restaurants just suck?

I've been once, the food wasn't too bad from what I remember but I've got no wish to sit on a bench with a load of people I don't know to eat my meal.

Never seen or heard of Eat or Go, and Subway I wouldn't really class that healthy.

Have you been to London? There's an Eat on every corner.

Most of Subway's sandwiches are under 500 cals, and there's a fair chunk under 300. With all the salad etc they're probably healthier than anything you can make at home.

Yep all that processed meat on that processed bread, with some salad and sugar filled sauce, sounds positively brimming with health.
Low calories <> healthy

It's all relative. Are you saying you eat unprocessed meat on unprocessed bread every single day and it costs you less than £3?

I understand that calories != healthy but Subway certainly isn't an unhealthy fast food outlet.

I wasn't arguing it from a price point.
I'll happily pay for decent food, I don't eat bread and my freezer is stocked with chicken breast and steak both of which cost me less than £3 a serving when made into a meal.

Couldn't disagree more.

The portion sizes are more than ample and value for money and by far the largest than any other chain restaurant.
There are a wide variety of dishes with real flavour and it's cooked fresh to order.
The venues are always very clean and the staff polite.
I enjoy the fact that it's not packed out with kids like most other chains.

Tom gets it. Subway, whilst low in cals, is crap food. I want whole, unprocessed, decent food from a take-away. That is hard to come by. The fact that I haven't heard of EAT and they appear to be located in just London and a few outlets in other cities is telling.

Yes they are rubbish, I don't understand why my wife and her friends like it so much. I've eaten in at least 3 branches and would not go there again out of choice.
Good/bad service may not be directly attributable to a specific chain as it is just as likely to be chance rather than a poor training regime.
FWIW, I don't have any issue at all with chain restaurants, but wagamamma doesn't do it for me (not my favourite type of food, overpriced, staggered serving etc).

edit: As for EAT, I ate there at Heathrow and it was mediocre at best (worse than Subway). My recommendation would be to locate a good sandwich shop.

Calories != healthy. It depends on the ingredients used. I can assure you that 100% of what I prepare at home is 100% more nutritious and has a much better nutritional profile than anything from sublol.

If you wrote a cookery book I would buy it and I'd read every beautiful word AND THEN WE'D MOVE IN TOGETHER AND I WOULD BUY YOU PRESENTS EVERY DAY AND OH NO IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN

Eat is just a poor man's Pret A Manger.

I think my favourite fast(-ish) food is Leon. Lots of healthy options, tasty, friendly staff and very quick.

I've only eaten there maybe twice and that was along time ago. Wasn't all that impressed really. The food was average and the price fairly expensive for what they're serving.

When I'm in the UK, I find it much easier to buy ingredients from an Asian supermarket and cook at home. Although this isn't really an option for people outside of big towns/cities.

I was a massive hater of wagamama's, but went one day for my daughters birthday meal (she wanted to go,

having never been before, and being a fussy eater, I had the Katsui curry, I think its called,

I really enjoyed it, and loved the crispy breadcrumb chicken, but I wouldn't eat anything else there.

seems like a good place to jump in and eat on the way to the Pub

How could you hate it when you hadn't been?

I only have love for the Waga!

As has been said before, Chicken Katsu Curry has always been lovely. 90% of my meals have been this dish.

Always filled me up, and I for one actually like the whole open plan, sit with anyone style that is going on.
