In my 42 years of living on this earth this is the first time i've actually felt gutted that a celebrity has died.

I can't stop thinking about it :( and lot's of people at work last night felt the same.

R.I.P.

pretty much the same

most celebrity deaths mean nothing...but the young ones was what we group up with..it has stuck with me and my sense of humour has matured around its start with the young ones..so it does actually mean something to me..gutted as well

also think the young ones playing cricket was the funniest thing I had ever seen..I could barely breath when he runs in bowling, his arm swinging and without releasing the ball just smacks Rik on the head with it

love this. here's some classic Mayall, with Jools Holland, skip to 1minute if you don't want to wait. The 3rd verse is brilliant:

RIP

Some nice words have been posted and I think it's right what people are saying about growing up with The Young Ones, Bottom, etc.

It definitely feels like such a loss, like the loss of a favourite uncle or something, someone who's made me laugh for most of my life.

Surprised by his untimely death. Was a big fan of the young ones and bottom and seems recently he'd been doing a few projects. So young too. Never knew he had the accident, seems as if it probably contributed.

R.I.P.

Looking through a website of who has died this year, I didn't realise Bob Hoskins had gone too!

RIP Rik Mayall, I used to cry with laughter at his silly comedy when I was younger.

EDIT: Ultimate Warrior died too?? Wtf

Yes RIP Rik.

You were one of the guys I would really have liked to have known. You always made me laugh!

Watched the epsiode of Bottom on BBC2 last night about the gas man. I must have seen it now at least ten times but it still has me in stitches every time, comedy genius.
