I was just wondering what size the drivers in the Sennheiser G4ME Zeros are i.e 40mm, 50mm etc... as it is not mentioned on the OCUK product page or the Sennheiser site.

I have asked Sennheiser quite a few times now but they keep telling me "16mb" or "We don't have drivers that is only for our 3D surround models"

Not even joking lol :p

Both G4ME ZERO and G4ME ONE are German-engineered, designed with hiqh quality material, and look great (just browse their official product pages and drool away). Noise-cancelling microphone is a big help if you like to game in a tournament or LAN party (where noise level is pretty high) and you can hear the difference it makes on their product pages (demo). The G4ME ZERO is of closed design where as the G4ME ONE is an open design headset. The only unfortunate thing is that the speakers are powered with 35mm drivers, not 40mm, and not 50mm.

Already know all that bud *except the driver size* as I have the Zero headset but thanks anyway :)

35mm ? Wow that is low :-/

I know mate I just copied the whole section from where I found it, should have just copied the last bit.

Yeah seems low considering the price of the headset! Did you ask this because you've noticed a lack of bass or something?

No I was just wondering, The base is pretty good, Not too overpowering and the sound is immense, Was just curious as to what the driver size was :)

Don't really understand why they went with 35mm drivers though ???

Why does it matter? Driver size makes absolutely no difference.

Yes it does, A bigger driver equals better base and that's fact no matter what way you spin it.

Well if it's implemented properly anyway it should be more *Thumpy* but thats about it.

That's ridiculous. Just to sling some mud, the Shure 1540 have 40mm drivers and produce better and bigger bass then most headphones. I dunno where you heard that but it's flat out wrong.

From an engineer.

But you also have to remember that the Shure 1540's are £400 headphones so they are going to be very well tweaked and tuned compared to other headphones in the sub £200 range with 50mm or even 60mm drivers.

What I meant was in general, "Technically" larger drivers deliver better bass.

All other things being equal, larger drivers would be capable of moving more air, and doing so with less excursion of course. But there's a whole load of engineering and complicated stuff that has to happen to turn that air into decent bass. simply using bigger drivers isnt enough.

No argument here ;) Too old for that. I'm just correcting you to stop confusion for newbies.

So according to the audiophile logic, If driver size makes zero difference, You could have a 10mm driver and it would sound exactly the same as a 60mm driver in every single aspect ? *Genuine question BTW*

Yeah, you don't really know what keyboard warrior means. Or Douche, for that matter.

You cant go throwing around fallacies as facts. Somebody's going to correct you.
