I want to change my car but really struggling to find something that I like to replace my current car.

I presently have an Evo X FQ that I've had for almost 3 years from new... I've had many Evo's and they are really my "ideal" car but unfortunately they have stopped making them.

I wanted to spend about £40K but have recently increased that to £55K'ish as I was struggling to find something but even now I can't seem to find a good replacement.

My first thought was a Nissan GTR but they are too expensive. I've looked at a GT86 but it was a little slow (looked nice though), the new Subaru looks a little ugly. The BMW M4 caught my eye but having seen one on the weekend I didn't like it.

So pretty much running out of ideas :(

Any suggestions ideally £40K'ish but up to £56K'ish, preferably new but if not less than a year old.

Failing this I'm going to stick with the company car and buy a bike!

Whats wrong with your Evo?

Otherwise the new Subaru STi would be worth a test drive at least i'd have thought if you are happy with your current car?

I've had it for almost 3 years which is longer than I like keeping them, I normally work on changing after 2 years or so and now I just feel I'm overdue a change.

I guess the Subaru could be worth a test drive, the 0-60 time is a little slower than I'd like but maybe the drive will feel different (it's pretty cheap to).

2nd hand GTR?

A 2013/2014 GTR would cost about £65K-£75K and although stupid me says just get one the sensible me just can't justify that cost and tbh I need to put a stop somewhere otherwise I'll just keep thinking for another 10K I could get..

Something 911 flavoured?

I'm no expert on them though, you'd need Housey to advise on what your budget would get you.

[Edit] Used Audi R8? Would be the V8 though.

S3 Saloon for fast and smart. Or Megane 275 trophy for having fun in :>

I actually enquired about the 275 Trophy, no official release date yet but expected to be about September. Not sure think it may look a little to boy racer, lol

ohhh just having a search through a load of magazine, whats the opinion on a Porsche Cayman S ?

Hi there

If you need the seats then C63 AMG or latest BMW M3, seats four, more fun to drive and quicker than any factory EVO.

Alternatively staying within 1yr old latest model Cayman S with right spec.

Or sensible option buy a 997.2 GTS from Porsche dealer, upto 5yr old but they come with as new 2yr car warranty.

I went from an EVO X to a 911 and the 911 is in a different league when it comes to driving pleasure and fun. But as an all year round capable car the EVO X is a hard act to beat.

Cheers Gibbo, I actually remember having a similar conversation with you 3 years ago when I was changing my old Evo X but in the end I just bought another Evo :) can't do that this time though..

The Cayman S looks like an option but the nearest dealer is about 120 miles away when it comes to servicing, this used one has caught my attention :

Other than that I think I'll have to do some travelling to see an M3 as I really didn't like the look of the M4.

M135i second hand for around half your budget, or A45 AMG for a few thousand more than the BMW.

Hate the spec of that car, not got the Sports Plus steering wheel with paddles, no bucket seats, really not a drivers spec, more a garish red interior. :D

Ahh OK, I've not had time to read up on this yet tbh so not sure what the specs are, just liked the white (not so much the red interior!)

Porsche can be so customised its untrue and spec can change fundamentally how a car drives. They all drive great, but the right spec could be immense.
