PS4 worth getting?

Got one couple weeks ago massive upgrade over ps3, defo worth getting. I only going to play Sony exclusive games though and fifa 15.

About the reading disk, am sure ps4 installs all games to hard drive now and only reads disk once to launch the game. Once game is working it reads from the hard drive, this should have a massive effect on the laser life cycle.

Get an xbox one instead as you just know even with pay only psn sony wont be putting any money in to improving or expanding their servers and support.

The entire reason they've made multiplayer part of PS+ is so they can invest money in the infrastructure.

You should always make sure you have a decent gaming PC before buying a console then simply buy the console / consoles for their exclusives. I think all 3 (Wii U, PS4 + XB1) are all fine machines and seem pretty reliable over the last gen :)

Thank you very much for the many responses guys, well I have decided that I will get the PS4 since it does have a year warranty like most electronics will see how it goes along the way :D. as with the Gaming PC im still happy with it even as its few years old it still manages 2 play loads of games I want easily. also will be getting new GPU, RAM and SSD etc abroad so tht shudnt b a problem :P.

You're not likely to get a new console that cheap as we get closer to xmas so if there's a few games out that you fancy playing you should go for it :)

I can live with gt6 and kof xiii for a good 6 months yet before I will upgrade. Just nit enough ps4 titles to justify right now knowing the ps4 price will also decrease significantly over 12 months or so...

but I have pc for fps bf4 etc so...

Certainly wouldn't bother at the moment if you already have an XBox. I bought a PS4 a few weeks back and just nothing to play on it at the moment, Trine 2 is the only thing I've really enjoyed (and the kids finished and liked Lego Movie).

That'll change when the Last Of Us is out though! Really looking forward to that but before that, nah.

Looking at todays ridiculous psn sign in issues i'd say no sony haven't a clue and I'd imagine hey wont be ploughing the money they make from psn + in to upgrades for the servers and so on.

I have to admit, I looked into it a few months back, but for the number of games available that I would actually want and the cost of them + console, I would rather stick with my PC for now.

They're probably using the money to pay for the PSnow service. :D

Download speeds are horrendous tonight. It's taken four hours to download 4GB when it should take me forty minutes.

What issues? Was working fine for me this afternoon on the PS4 and a couple of hours ago on the PS3.

You seem to just have this overly pessimistic attitude about the whole thing really. Try having a bit of faith.

Have the added multimedia capabilities yet, i.e. the ability to play mp3s and video files? That's the only reason that I'm holding off on getting one, I don't have the space for both my current PS3 and a PS4 under the TV.

No, it's not in the works either before someone says otherwise. Sony have simply said that they've acknowledged it's something people want.
