jealousy comes in, when someone go out of his way to be offensive to others without any reason, you can't claim to have complete lack of interest, then yet feel the need to be sarcastic and offensive, it doesnt doesnt add up, this is like body language, some reactions we have tell the truth about us even if we try to hide it.
and as i said that's what i think, i could be wrong, maybe you have a better explanation
