02 M3

M3's sound poo from behind, tinny raspy waspy things and I am yet to hear a good exhaust on one. CSL's from the front however are a little bit special....until they go past then they are tinny raspy waspy things too!

If only the M3 didnt have the most awfully crap front lights of any recent BMW. It is a car fashioned from pure win until you get to the front and they are just... crap. Totally crap. Stupid opaque indicator clusters.

Given that the M3 came out at the same time as the E39 facelift its a crime BMW didn't fit some sort of proper, genuine, Crystal Angel Eye implementation to the front of it. It would have saved it from the epic fail the headlights now are :(

They still look nice though, of course not as nice as the one piece units on facelift coupes but still...you seldom notice the headlights on an M3 :p

I notice. They stand out and scream 'Look, I am almost worth buying BUT FOR THESE AWFUL LIGHTS!!!!!!'.

Facelift Coupe ones are miles better but dont work properly with the squared off front bumper on an M3.

But then the same could be said for the E39 front grille, why give a 5 Sport such a tiny grille when a 3 sport has a niiiice wide mean looking grille!

I notice this :)

(P.S. I know grilles = not headlights but...you get the picture!)

Yes the grille was widened slightly on facelift models. Pre 2000 models have a narrower grille. The newer grille is a cheap and simple mod for prefacelift owners, though :) So maybe you keep seeing ones that people have retrofitted the newer grille to.

ok whatever you say

Dont really see how they could have made the grille any wider without making the car even wider

Don't take it all seriously :p

I was just joking at the fact that a 5 is wider than a 3 (surely?) yet the grilles on all models are thinner than a 3 (of that period).

it has been put through photoshop yes

but the cars still genuine if you get what i mean. It looks shopped because of the photoshop added border round the edge of the photo (blended in) and its probably also had a few tweaks with the levels etc.. to make the blue stand out :)

No probs, I know the cars genuine (I know Fido & where he works) the pic looked odd to me, glad you confirm that I've not quite gone mad just yet! :D

I think the cars average looking, nothing particularly special, but I would not say abused off hand. The headrests are utterly gash but you could revert those to stock. Main interior (aside from the aftermarket headrests) is probably individual although I can't check spec at this time, gone midnight. I'd suggest if it's an SMG model to avoid, or at least thoroughly check history. If it's a regular manual thats a bonus. SMG boxes of the early era cars within which this falls (pre 04 register approx) can go wrong, when they do it is will be a very expensive fix.

Good luck viewing. Remember to test EVERYTHING. Push all the buttons, test the abs, traction, pdc, tv and all functions, all electricals, lights, power steering at standstill. Be utterly thorough.

This post is intended to be of assistance to the OP, is non negotiable with any other individual than the OP.

Just randomly thought of this whilst on the toilet.

What a good laugh that was :D
