hi guys i thought it could be a good idea to make a thread like this (if it is in the wrong place or breaks any rules etc im sorry in advance and feel free to move it somewhere appropriate) im not claiming to be any kind of expert, but i know how to stick a pc together and roughly what bits work/look good with one another

i did notice a similar thread but it looks very out of date now, i do plan to update this occasionally but i wont be re-doing the entire thing every week, more like every time there's new architecture released etc

im going to list gaming PC's for every price point, after awhile i'll begin to include touches of Bling (led's or watercooling etc)

(NOTE: attempting to colour code and make things pretty often means you could get more for the same price, or the same performance for less price)


these are just my opinions and id be surprised if any of them are actually 100% optimal, especially when im including extra touches that only improve aesthetics (please unless you spot a moderately important issue *particularly incompatibilities* don't spam up the thread with hundreds of suggestions how they can be improved )

changed the £400 build from APU to pentium + GPU based, will offer better baseline gaming performance at that price bracket

edit: also somehow managed to spec a £350 gaming pc with a dedicated GPU

thanks! that's pretty much how i intended it to be used, am in no way suggesting someone just buys exact copies of these builds based on their budget

Hehe, with an EVGA 10-year warranty PSU or five, no doubt?

Speaking of which, a "Long Warranty build" might be an idea. You have those EVGA PSUs, and now there are the new Samsung 850 PROs with a 10-year warranty too. Some cases have 5 year warranties, some motherboards too. And some coolers have 6 year ones. Some HDDs have 5 years, etc.

Perhaps OcUK might even consider making a "Long warranty bundle". Might be attractive to buyers.
