Budget of approx £300 max.

How does an athlon 750k black, fm2a88x ( if i specced right ) mobo, with evga 500w psu and an r9 270x gpu sound.

I have keyboard, mouse, os and monitor. Happily take the new unlocked pentium with a view to upgrade later but nothing above £300.

Also happy with low-med settings initiallly as its for my sons 13 birthday and he mainly uses x1 and his ps4

Thnx

I'd get some decent used components, a first gen i7 w/ mobo will be about £80, used GPU about £80 (GTX 660Ti/670 or AMD equivalent), new case for £30, used RAM and jobs a good 'un

They aren't really dearer, for the performance you get over the athlon it is worth it.

USED
- i7 first gen £40
- Mobo £50
- GPU £80 (~GTx 660)
- 8GB RAM ~£40

Total £210

+ NEW

- Case £30
- Cooler £15
- Fans £5
- HDD £48
- PSU £40

Total £138

Total £210+£138 = £348

Judging by the prices ive seen things sell for on the MM id say you could easily get the following for £300

GTX670/270X
i5 2500K + mobo
8Gb RAM

Oh, you perhaps don't have MM access yet - you should be able to get them off the bay perhaps?

MeatLoaf - that sounds good :o Though the case etc which I specced would cost £124 so you'd be £124 over :(

I think you haven't been registered for long enough, 1000 posts and 180 days registered needed

Tbh we don't use optical drives anyways. How does that cpu handle games at low settings 1920x1080
