Baby P boss Sharon Shoesmith awarded £680k payout

What about the Tory incompetence with regards to arms licences and Russia, I haven't seen you chirping up about that.

we sell military gear to way worse countries than Russia. iirc we sell to nearly every single country on our list of human rights violators and have done for decades.

we're arms dealers we sell to ****** people cause they pay well, Russia being one of the better ones.

can someone clarify why she's been paid this?

Ed Balls thought employment law didn't apply to him and dismissed her without following the correct process.

Lesson 1 why private sector executive level contracts have defined severance terms rather than relying on standard dismissal practices.

I know that, my point was that Dolph gets all excited when a chance to attack the left comes along.

well you chose a very poor point to bring up as labor supervised the sale of arms to way worse people for a hell of a lot longer and did **** all about it then.

So how is that relevant to the death of baby p and the out of process sacking of shoesmith which happened entirely under labour's watch?

Have you got any similar examples under the coalition? Or are your just blathering again?

Ed balls is totally to blame, as are the Tories favourite paper the sun

There's millions of examples in today's social work, Daniel pelka serious case review has similarities to baby P, the same story of high caseloads, no money for more workers etc. this is happening in every local authority today, thanks to the current government cutting them to the bone. There will be another similar case to baby P as there is no money to put into place the full Munro report and her recommendations for reform. The Tories said they will cherry pick it, which isn't working

Boom, he hit me me some latin!

That is me told!

What position are you referring to?

You haven't really taken one, all you have done is provided a couple of comments (one incorrect one and one saying cuts were not to blame in this case. You havent expressed a view about the payment, the unfair dismissal or who is reaponsible for the bill.

You then attacked me for mentioning that the whole thing happened under labour's watch, even though I was not the first person to do so.

Some people wonder why I don't post as much any more. This thread is an example why, I shouldn't have to spend my time justifying things against a few posters who seem to make an issue out of everything when they have no real point whatosever.

Yes he is, but the sun is also to blame for scapegoating shoesmith

Not really. The sun didn't unfairly dismiss her. Regardless of scapegoating, the blame falls only on Ed, because he was the individual who screwed up.

Dolph resorting to turning this into a political thing as he clearly knows **** all about this subject  despite the fact his beloved Tories have made the situation even worse due to brutal cuts and not paying attention to Munro who had a whole host of reforms ready, but they said it would cost too much  oh and Gove thinking that cos he was adopted he knows about social work

When there were 60 visits to the family, I think it is safe to say there was plenty of opportunities for intervention, that is a failing of the agencies in my opinion.

They pay of is correct, it may stick in my throat but there are procedures to follow and they were not.

We both agree, I think that Ed Balls screwed up, the differences you couldn't wait to blame Labour.

Good to see the incompetence of the labour government continues to impact the country.

Shamr the op will continue to blindly vote for them and their incompetence in the future.

You do realise that the current government just got rid of their most competent legal advisor, Dominic Grieve QC, because he gave them legal advice that they didn't want to hear? Failure to heed his advice is going to cost this country a lot more than £800,000.

I expect you won't be blindly voting for the Tories and their incompetence in the future?

The idea that every problem can be solved by or caused by money is the flaw of many on the left.

This is not to say that I necessarily agree with the current approach, but we've seen a live experiment of funding increases improving things under the last government and it did not lead to better outcomes for people in care, in education, at risk or any other manner of tests.

The constant wailing about cuts is tiresone.
