I say it more Ca-steel. Which is basically how it is phonetically.

Steel sort of has two syllables, "steee-el"?

So cast-eel works I think.
 
This is one of those cases where either could be right- it comes down to an individual's particular accent and the preference of the namee...

Castiel could pronounce it either way himself, he chose the 3-syllable route and that is up to him.
Steel is different IMO, as it's double-e, not ie. But that's just my take on it.

I didn't mean it in the context of the word "Steel", LOL.

Just in the name 'Castiel'... as in, you were taking the 'stiel' part to be equal to 'steel', which it isn't.

I didn't read your post properly from the looks of it, hahahah. :D
