*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Both my controllers are still fine from launch. Maybe I don't game hard enough....:)

Only some controllers have the issue. Rubber started flaking off of mine after only a few hours of use, yet my PS3 controller has no issues for the 6 + years it was used.

My PS4 controller is still going, but both sticks are now completely smooth in the centre and the right stick has a tiny hole. Not sure how long they are going to last once I have Destiny tbh!

this is the last update till 1.80 from what the sites are saying, so one would hope that 1.80 is a big one with a lot of goodies

Just out of interest those with dodgy analogue sticks, what is the first digit of the controllers serial number?

I have two controllers from launch that came in the same bundle, one where the rubber has split (first serial digit 1) and one which is OK (first serial digit 2). There is a definite difference in the feel of the rubber on both with the one that has split being much softer.

Both my sticks have serial numbers starting with 1.

I have:

Black pad - serial 1 - pad wear
Black pad - serial 1 - pad wear
Blue pad - serial 2 - pad wear
Red lad - serial 2 - pad wear.

So I'd say the serial number is not related :p

Personally I keep mine turned off, it boots quick enough for me

I shall be keeping it in standby mode later on this week though as I'm waiting for TLoU to pre-load towards the end of the week

Mine starts with a 1 and i were fine for ages, then once i started playing MLB14 and UFC they cracked and started leaving black residue everywhere. So before they got worse i switched the sticks to Xbone ones so i didn't have to go through that again.

are the xbox one sticks not slippy?

I find the PS4 ones become quite slippy after use and when playing fifa my fingers don't stick too well
