I've got a Miche Primato 11 speed hub on the rear wheel. I've got a 10 speed Tiagra cassette. What spacers do I need? Googling suggests maybe 1mm. Or maybe 1.85mm. Or maybe both. Any ideas?

And if anyone can give me a straight answer, can anyone then point me to where to buy the bloody things?

I had to use a plain 1mm spacer with my carbon wheels which a LBS gave me out of their box of bits, the rivet type things that hold the cassette together were stick out the back of the cassette which got in the way little but i made it work.

This spacer wouldn't work for me for the same reason but it might work for you.

Right, I've sent an email to mr wheel man. The spacers would have come with the hubs he's used to build the wheels so I figure he should have sent me them with the wheels, not least because I specifically said I needed the wheels for a 10 speed drivetrain...

The purchase seems to of been nothing but hassle.

It's not for no reason, it's because he's become so angry at the car coming towards him he lost control of his bike.

What an idiot. Having looked at a few videos he seems to have consistent issues with his own positioning which leads to a lot of these problems.

ETA - just seen one where he stops way behind a parked car for no real reason, and then starts hurling abuse because a car comes past him. He wouldn't last 5mins cycling in London.

When i first saw the two riders they were spread across the road but thankfully one of them went back across ahead of the other to give me room to go past. I've met horses before on the road but its normally been at a slow section so they've not really bothered when i go past, its just at this point i had a bit of speed on. :eek:
 
Glued my first set of tubulars on the weekend. No real issues once I'd stretched the tyres to make them go on more easily. I rode out to marshall at Tameside last night and on the way back the inner tube has split where it joins the valve. :mad: Gonna see if PX will replace it, pretty disappointed. :( My glue job was OK though because it was an absolute ******* to get off the rim!

Seriously, slow down next time. Don't mess around with horses. If you freak a horse out someone could get seriously injured or worse. Slow down, let them know you're there, pass wide.

Hell I've even had a 6 speed derailleur shift 9 speed.

Take the limit screws out and see how much further your derailleur can move....

Currently running a 9speed Sora dérailleur with an 8speed cassette on my spare bike - no problems at all. Just had to muck around with the limit screws, job done :)

You don't want a kick from a horse. I saw one going mental, that booted a car bonnet. I'm glad I wasn't in that car.
Always say something as you approach, the horse will be familiar with human voices and won't be as startled.
 
Echoing everything above about horses, even in a car I am always cautious. You don't to be on the end of a horse kicking its back legs out. Besides horse riders in my experience are always very polite and courteous.
 
And would shooting past a little faster be worth having the rider fall from the horse and break their back/neck?! Cyclists are seen in a dim light by some other road users already, lets not make it any worse...
