Laptop Slow!!

Hi,

I installed win 8.1 on my inspiron 1720 laptop 2 weeks ago, and new ssd drive. used for the net mainly, and is fast enough for this no problems.

But i started it up today, and seems so sluggish.. the net seems slow also, but speeds fine on speed check, and fine using the main pc via the internet.

I use Malwarebytes Pro, and Bitdefender free version, done some scans, no problems found.

Any idea why all of a sudden it's become so slow..? is there another way to scan for unwanted viruses etc in the system?

is the SDD ful or close (Over 60%) full ?

sometimes SSD's can run slow when they get beyond the 60% mark.
my laptop does the same thing, a quick clean out on the SSD, move some stuff over to external drive and its all good.

There is 211 GB Free of 238 GB.
So can't be that i guess?
 
Guess not, have you tried updating the firmware on it ?
try running windows updates, it might be a windows fault/driver error.
also try updating the bios.
