Going to pick up a Wii u in a few hours along with Pikmin, Mario Kart (+ a few other Mario games) and going to choose Zelda:WW for my free online game.

What else should I grab accessories wise?

Hey guys, been with a friend all day so I only got to set it up and play 1 race of Mario Kart T_T

GAME are terrible, no accessories and £50 games instore when advertised cheaper online =/
So I walked away only with MK8 and WW from the online promotion.

I grabbed Mario Bros U, 3D world and Pikmin 3 off online.

Not sure about the new donkey kong.

If you haven't played it before make sure to grab a copy of deus ex, fantastic on the wii.

Its usually a £5er in the steam sale and looks loads better though. Nintendo make brilliant nintendo games and nothing else. Stay clear of the 3rd party games if you have other means to play them basically (bayonetta aside) as at this point they are cheaper on all other formats

Mario 3d is the best game ive played this year by a mile. The times ive sat grinning away to myself! DK,MK8,WW and pikmin are all brilliant as well

  • Wiimote+ & Nunchuck - for playing Wii games. Also many Wii U games can be played using wiimote + nunchuck which is ideal for multiplayer. Great for playing Pikmin 3 too!. (wii sports club also requires Wiimote+ if you plan on getting it.)
  • Pro Controller - great for longer game sessions, and just a great controller in general, 80hr built-in battery life. multiplayer++ too
  • These are the best exclusives available atm imo:

As with any purchase, be sure to do your research first - e.g.: Wonderful101 is not for everyone

Definitely consider Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze if you've ever liked platformers - challenging and a lot of fun.

I'd have to disagree with oldestgregg to some degree regarding 3rd party games. Although there's not many, they're not always that much cheaper elsewhere and the assassins creed, batman games and ME3 for example make decent use of the gamepad (e.g. to show the map), adding some extra value to the game. Rayman Legends is great on the Wii U too.
Deus Ex looks pretty good on the Wii U also (ex1, ex2, ex3), has extra features and makes good use of the GamePad. It's an oldish game so doesn't look that much better on PC imo, not without mods.
