If not, why?

Also what would you like to see in your local chemist/pharmacy?

Any services that you think would be beneficial.

(MODS a poll would be nice, cheers :) )

The reason behind this is that I'm studying to become a pharmacist and it would be nice to know the opinion of different sectors of the public (lots of I.T people here I presume)

No problems here. I pick up repeat prescriptions every month and they're always ready for me when I go in.

No not satisfied. Whenever I go in these days it seems that they haven't got the whole prescription so give me half and then I have to come back later to pick up the rest. There's always a significant queue, which is almost always due to prescriptions waiting to be checked before being handed over.

The only problem I ever have is that old people take some damn long to receive their prescriptions. Oh, and that they can't seem to organise the things properly so they can never find my prescription.

only used mine once tried to charge me like 7 quid for some ibuprofen capsules, thought **** that and went to boots where it's like 55p for their own brand....

you're supposed to be able to get advise on ailments as well? instead of going straight to a GP right?

Nope, they dont prescribe cannabis.

:D

I've used pharmacists all over the place and they've all been fine. The only annoying thing is the wait. We need prescription scanning vending machines that dump everything into a bag then you leave.

Problem solved.

I have a feeling my local one is secretly screwing me over on my Methadone script. Aside from that really good, needle exchange works well, staff are friendly etc.

From what I've seen most counter assistants, pharmacy assistants and even pharmacists need some serious training and instruction on how the Caldicott Guidelines and general information governance applies to them because their practice is abysmal.

Ended up taking my local co-op pharmacy to court. Got a settlement figure as the silly cow who checked my mums medication messed up not once, but twice and left her in hospital again (straight after having a quad-heart bypass!).

Wasn't impressed that the next pharmacy up the road made the same mistakes, giving the wrong medication shortly after!

Remind me again why these pharmacists get paid so much? - It's like their selling sweets or something, and don't give a crap about their actual patients.

National body who regulates them all are pretty pathetic too - just rapped her fingers for leaving my mum with severe kidney problems in hospital for 3 weeks.

Confidence in care is of utmost importance I would say.

Very sorry to hear this, quite shocking to say the least.

Do you know what medication she was supposed to be given and which one she was given by mistake?
