Shooting for Terminator: Genisys has apparently finished, Arnie himself announces on his Instragram page yesterday, this is what he said:

"Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup - we couldn't have done it without you. I can't wait to see our finished project and I know we'll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I'll be back."

Lets hope this is better than Terminator 3 and Salvation. More production shots found below.

So whats the deal in this film, what is Arnie's character, if he's a machine why is he old now?

Also Danaerys although hot doesn't look badass or tough enough to be Sarah Connor imo.

Nothing seems to be leaked yet about the plot. Although I thought the same about why he looks old with grey hair, the plot may focus on a lot of time travel aspects and possibly he is a different model of terminator?

Alan Taylor seems to be a possible good director to take on the job, worked on Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Sopranos and many more successful TV series. Doesnt have much of a filmography though apart from Thor: The Dark World.

I thought it was more obvious that he was playing a Doctor or researching for the SKynet project who jsut happens to use his self as a mase for the models.

Though this kinda flys in teh face of what happened in Salvation, which im hoping they jsut pretend never happened.

I originally heard that Arnie is playing the human being that the Terminator is based on, so he's probably fighting himself!

This seems to be a bit of a copy of the Bladerunner books written by KW Jeter where Roy Batty comes back in the first sequel - but he's actually the older human that was used as a basis for the simulant version we see in the first book and the movie.

Theirs also a comic series based on that, that as a human he was in the rebels etc.

If Emilia Clarke is set to play Sarah Connor, then this must be set not long after T2? The screenshot I posted seems as though she is wearing 'mental ward' uniform, maybe Arnie helps her escape...again?

There's mention on IMDb that the ageing is explained away by the living tissue on the terminator getting older.

Aside from the plot, what do you all think of the films title, Terminator: Genisys, rather than Genesis?

Should have went with Genesis IMO. I'm sure Genisys will probably make sense once we've seen the movie but it looks like a typo lol.

Please be good, please be good, please be good.

... I can't see it though, I'm not a fan of the casting of Sarah Connor or Kyle Reese, why is Reece now this big muscly bloke? The whole idea was he'd been living in some war torn wasteland

I like Emilia Clarke and don't forget we mostly only know her role in GoT as she's hardly done any acting outside of that so she might surprise us and play the role well. Agree on the male case though, other than her and Arnie they're awful choices.

I think they shouldn't have bothered, the third terminator was a sequel too far

you also need Cameron to direct otherwise its no good, and asmuch of the original cast as you can get

Bet its a 12A

Really? Because I'm quite sure someone in Hollywood would have thought "You know, there's a lot of money to be made from the under 12s. Maybe they'd like to watch a Terminator movie too?"

:p

[scene opens with Sarah Connor stood in the middle of a circle of human-looking robots. A Terminator is helping Sarah count to ten.

Sarah makes a gun shape with her hand, and points at one of the smiling robots stood in a circle. "Bang!" she exclaims. One of the robots laughs and says "You got me!" With a wink, he lies down and starts to sleep. A kitten is seen licking his face, and he laughs occasionally so the audience understands he's OK.

The Terminator asks Sarah how her counting is going. "Three! I count three robots lying down!"

scene ends.]

Brb, I'm pitching this to Hollywood. It's gold.

Terminator 3 was a 12, as was salvation, they were both crap. The new Robocop was a 12, it was crap. The older films T1, T2 and Robocop were aimed at adults (18) and were great, there is a pattern in there somewhere...
