Robin Williams found dead at home

I think it's such a shame that he couldn't, or didn't feel he could, reach out to his fans for the support he so clearly needed. Perhaps it wouldn't have helped, but this is a small forum in comparison with the entire world, and hundreds of us would have happily turned up to tell the man how much we love him. Maybe that wouldn't be what he needed...but as a species we could have shown him how important he was to all of us.

It surely didn't help with one of his shows getting canned. Thats a major blow. Imagine how demoralising that would feel. It's like the feeling getting laid off.

Being told that they are loved or that they are important does not make a depressed person feel better; it can often heighten the guilt they feel about their desire to not be alive anymore.

Had a lot of other stuff going on though and some big stuff coming up. Generally seems to be hints there was something in his past he couldn't forgive himself for.

Really? depression sounds very confusing, so It doesn't matter how much you help them, it wont snap them out of it.

If it's linked to a chemical imbalance in the brain then it can be almost impossible unless you fill yourself full of meds which have awful side effects for some.

I don't buy the there's more to life than money. So why exactly is everyone working? You need money to live, money for happiness in some form, money to make things better, money to bring better things, money to live and money to make things easier. Everything in life is about money.

Less money, more stress. More anxiety and sleepless nights. So many people suffer it. When are they going to be able to pay their next bill.

So exactly why is it work to live? You need money for everything.

Food banks create depression for people. People don't want to be in food banks.

Pretty much, the rational side of your existence confirms you are fine. It's the emotional side that messes with you and makes even the most facile thought seem to be a universal guilt.

Most comedians/ actors suffer from forms of depression, it's why they gravitate towards roles that allow them to be someone else and to an extent hide themselves.

In effect, yes. There is no 'snap out of it'. That's the same as I was saying. I've had to bite back on saying 'pull yourself together' in the past because it's simply not possible for some people.
