People who default to dogs being better have just never met a good cat, dogs are affection *****, give it to anyone who even looks at them. Cats are more reserved, and when you win the affection of one, they are just beyond awesome.

The dog in that video isn't trying to "save" that fish. It is trying to bury it.

Well, ok, you can argue it is trying to "save" it for later, but that's it. The dog is not trying to rescue the fish.

I like cats, so much so I had five at one point!

Alas, our two White German Shepherds don't and used to chase them constantly, so, given the dogs are infinitely better at guarding the house, the cats have all gone to homes where they are not hassled by large dogs.

No, cats are not IMO better than dogs, they are however completely different.

A dog is for it's owners convenience, a cat IMO the reverse.

I can't say either is better. I'd love a dog, but my life style right now would be unfair on a dog to own one. Therefore, my cats are fantastic pets right now. Very loving and bringing much joy to our home (as would a dog).

You don't win the affection of cats just their interest once they find someone else who interests them more they **** off! Dogs are too free with their trust where as parrots are just awesome all round!

Dogs are better - they are fiercely loyal like any 'member of the family' should be. Cats always have an air of hostility and malevolent scheming about them, and often if you analyse their behaviour, just go from house to house scrounging food whilst weeing and pooing wherever they like.

If dog did that, there'd be hell on.

That's because a cat is smart enough to do that :p

Dogs are like that slow, fat, smelling-of-wee kid at school who wanted desperately for anyone to be their friend, but no-one wanted to be nice to because they would latch on to them and follow them everywhere.

Cats are like normal people.

Both have their place, I don't understand why so many people have to be polarized. :p

Yes, neither in my back garden ******* in the soil.

Dog owners are respectful and don't allow their pets to do it, cat owners don't give a damn... ;)

When a person learns to look after a cat they can graduate up to a dog.

No! :D

But, my wife reckons this will be how she ends her days, alone (I'm older than her and will probably pop off sooner) and surrounded by cats!!!

Surrounded by lots of gorgeous, affectionate cats isn't the worse way to go!

Just gotta make sure she perfects the whole talking to herself in gobbledygook and never washing and she will have the whole look down! :D

Cats can't swim, they attract enemy radar, they attract sharks, they nudge people when they're trying to shoot, they always insist on sitting at "The Captain's Table" ... they *muck about*.

Imagine ... the fear ... when you go to sleep with a cat on board and think "Oh God, when I wake up, will everyone be dead?"

You can't run a ship like that.
So, cats as well as homosexuals :D!

I have 2 cats and wouldn't give them up for anything, but it's quite clear that dogs are better than cats.

Big dogs are great - loyal, friendly, fun and intelligent.

Small dogs - can't stand them. Yappy, loud little idiots that bark at everything. Unfortunately they seem to be the only dogs I see nowadays. Horrible little runts.

Cats are quiet and look after themselves quite nicely. They can also be very affectionate if you are deemed worthy enough :p
