Worth changing to this card?

That is based on DX11, Mantle CPU usage is little lower but not by much. Main reason I know my CPU is getting used less under Mantle is the fact on Mantle CPU temps are lower.

Ah fair enough. Thats not that impressive from mantle but syill not bad nonetheless

Not impressive because it uses CPU less? thats what Mantle is designed to do, reduce CPU load and in return pass most gaming code onto the GPU's to boost performance.

If both gpus are at 100% either way with a good old i7, then how is a few% lower cpu usage that impressive? Its free and works so still a good addition :)

You must remember even though sandy bridge as been out a long time.. a 2600k still stands up on its own again most of Intels latest line up.

You got Ivy what was a complete disappointment and horrible for Overclocking and temps. a Good overclock on a 2600k a ivy i7 wont match it even if you was to try and match it overclock.

Then you have Haswell with better cooling but on about 10% improvement. Still not worth the CPU upgrade :p

Sure things would improve more if I was to change to 2011 but that is a big cash pocket for me willing to go that far.
x99 around the corner also, if the prices are right will be a great time to upgrade.

The improvements would be small, youre not that cpu limited id imagine you (and everyone else) gets limited when explosions happen which are coded for the CPU.

I tried gaming on dx and then on mantle, the performance increase was massive, not to mention the fps. Mantle is truly outstanding.

This is why we say Mantle is different gravy.

This gif typically encapsulates the reaction most Mantle users give on their first taste of it.

Who needs low level API's, huh? ;)

I agree mate haha. How do I go about that then? Been playing BF4 and for me on ultra 55 percent fan speed keeps it in the 80s and not loud. Game runs great. Why would anyone keep 100 percent fan speed on when its not needed?

Leave it with me, I will get it sorted :D :p

Don't know anyone who does that

Ok I have just been ,messing with a little overclock on my new card guys and have a quick question. If afterburner shows GPU usage 100 percent but temp is at 80, thats fine isnt it? Yeah its prob a silly question, just wanna make sure

Ok thanks, just setting up a fan profile so it auto adjusts depending on the load. a lot better, not sure how much this card could overclock. I have got it upto 1150 core so far and its been fine. How far can they go?

1150 is decent on stock cooler, maybe 1200 tops? not sure

any higher you'd need decent aftermarket cooler i would have thought,or the card will throttle itself
