Right now I have 2 x 7950 Sapphires in Crossfire to go along with my OC 4.4 i2500K.

Can someone recommend a single green card that would supersede the above.

Games I play are normally sim type games such as ARMA, DCS etc.

Probably looking around the £450 mark at the very maximum.

I am not looking for an argument as AMD/ATI have served me very very well for the past 12 years or so. Just fancy a change..

The only 'single' card that would top 7950cf would be dual chip, a 690 would about match what you have and a titan-z would destroy them and your bank account.

I'd definitely wait and see or grab a 780 for around £300. it won't beat what you've got but it's a great card and once you can afford it, grab a second one

Depends a bit on the game, IIRC my 780 @ 1267MHz was only about 5% behind a fairly decently clocked 7950 CF setup in BF4. Don't have any other direct comparisons but I upgraded from a 470 SLI setup clocked to stock 480 SLI performance and a stock 7950 CF setup was about 30-40% faster than the SLI setup and my 780 @ 1267 shows a clean 30% or higher increase over my old setup in every case.

Minimum 780 SLI, no single Nvidia gpu is faster.

Going on the basis of going 7950 CrossFire@1100MHz and comparing it against my 290X@1150MHz=~Titan Black, my 7950's were quicker, sometimes by quite a margin(never play mmo's or strategy titles though).

Not to say you can't live with the drop@120Hz/1080p, as 780/290+ are very quick anyway.

But as pointed out above, 8 series is coming, more often than not gibbo manages an eol of higher end Nvidia gpu's at smashing prices if that's any use.

Doubt he will do it this time as stock is low for the 780s etc.
The last drops we had for EOL was when Asus found stock and knocked them out for nowt, Gibbo passed that on as massive savings.

Gibbo said the same last year-stocks are low and wouldn't happen, then Msi/Asus wanted shot of all the unsold stock in their warehouses-there were thousands.

It's not as if oCuk exclusively got a job lot either, there were loads of etailers selling off the same cheap Asus/Msi 67/80's there was that many.

Might not happen, but 780's for ~£250 would be phenomenal-yes please.

Unless the 870 is faster and cheaper than said £250 (Probably/almost definitely wont happen :p:D:p)

Like the £123 670 against full price more expensive 760?

Can't remember the exact eol 680 price but it was way cheaper than the ridiculous(in direct comparison) introductory price of the 770 which is the same gpu with a factory oc.

Or the dirt cheap 480 soc against full price 570?

2 out of 3 eol sales since the 4 series, makes it a higher probability than not.;)

A third party 780ti or Titan black would beat CF 7950's in a lot of situations (as they can beat a 7990 in some) but I would recommend holding out for the new gen of cards launching soon.

I think the 680's were circling around the £220-240 Mark with more exotic models (soc etc..) around £270 on clearance.
