Triple DVI Graphics Card

Hi all,

I've currently got a Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop, which comes with a Graphics card that has twin DVI so I've got one going to my 20" Widescreen Dell Monitor and another going to my LG 27" LCD TV.

I'm now planning to move my Printer off the Desk and have two of the Dell Monitor's side by side (Managed to find one cheap on eBay, same Monitor).

What's better? I've already got a long DVI Cable that runs to the TV to my Desktop, so should I get a Twin DVI and Single HDMI Graphics Card or is it possible to get a Triple or Quad DVI Graphics Card?

How will I know if it's compatible with my Motherboard too?

Current Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO

I don't do any gaming.

Please advise.

I really don't want to spend that much on it, maybe somewhere around the £50-75 mark if that's doable?

My sister had a 530S but I believe it has the same motherboard as the 530.

Is a VGA connection possible? Depending on the monitor there's usually no difference in quality compared with DVI/HDMI, and the motherboard has a built in Intel GPU which you may need to enable in BIOS but can use for a 3rd monitor connection.

EDIT: Another alternative is the Sapphire 6450 FLEX, OcUK doesn't have this in stock but if you search around you will find one for pretty cheap. It needs to be a FLEX card, as Sapphire's FLEX feature allows 3 digital connections to run off one GPU.

I've changed my budget, to something strictly under the £40-50 mark - hopefully it's do-able, has to be better or on par with my current card.

From what I'm seeing, it's twin DVI and single HDMI I need.

If you can list some model numbers to look at, and I'll Google, just so we don't break the OCF rules, thanks!

Low budget as I don't want to spend over £100 with this small change, I'm getting the same monitor as mine for about £50 off eBay.

I have found two from Sapphire, Google the names below.

Sapphire Technology AMD Radeon 5450 HD 650MHz 1GB PCI-E 2 x DVI LP Passive

Sapphire Technology ATI Radeon 6450 HD 1GB PCI-Express HDMI Flex

Which one would you say is better?

The current card I've got has a Fan on it, how come these two don't? Mine has only 2 x DVI, this has 2 x DVI plus HDMI and no fan, is it all ok?

Do you think I can sell the Graphics Card I've got at the moment for anything once I've got my new one installed?

I was set on the 'Sapphire 11190-12-20G AMD HD6450 1GB DDR3 Lite Retail PCI-E Graphics Card' but it's requirements is 400 watts.

It looks like I'm 50 watts off, I won't be able to use that card unfortunately.

Any other suggestions?

I'd ignore the 400 W requirement, the HD 6450 1GB card has a maximum TDP of 27 W. Your current HD 2600 XT has a maximum TDP of 50 W.

Ah, wow, really? I hope your right, I won't be using all 3 screens at the same time, the HDMI port for the TV will only be used from time to time and when that's used, the x2 DVI won't be on. It's only the x2 DVI that will be constantly powered.

Here is the exact link of the one I'm getting below.

Is there anything else I should be checking before purchase?

So I've got that Sapphire HD 6450 card, the two DVI's work perfectly.

I'm having issues with the HDMI, I've got a Belkin HDMI cable going from the Desktop to my LG M2762D LCD TV, and the DVI on my Monitor looks clearer/sharper than the HDMI on my LG TV.

How come?

It just doesn't look clean and clear.

I might return it and get something else maybe a x1 RGB, x1 DVI, x1 HDMI card instead.

I'd start by looking here as it is probably an over/under scan type issue.

No idea what your monitor is, that TV isn't great so the monitor could certainly look better anyway, but it should look clear so I hope you can fix it :)
