Hi guys,

I'm looking at building my own pc soon (Mainly for gaming) at around the £400/ £500 mark and I just wanted some opinions on my setup so far and the performance capabilities of it. Will it run demanding games at a high level etc?

CPU: AMD Piledriver FX-6 Six Core 6300 Black Edition 3.50Ghz (Socket AM3+).

GC: Asus AMD Radeon R9 280 DirectCU II top 3GB, GDDR5, 2x HDMI Display port.

MB: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard (Socket AM3+, Up to 16GB DDR3, USB 3.0, uATX).

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 XMP Blue.

HDD: Most likely a 1TB Western Digital hard drive or two 500GB WD hard drives.

might want to squeeze a 120gb ssd in there for your OS and a game or 2. I assume this is for 1080p.

Oh okay, I'll have a look at it. You're correct in assuming that mate. To be honest I haven't really had a look at a case yet or a PSU, any suggestions are welcome though, I was thinking a 750W PSU should be ok though because from what I hear the R9 280 is a bit more demanding for power than some.

+1 for shivy's builds. If you wanted to crossfire down the line then you could look at a 750watt cpu but for the meantime i think the 500w like shivy said will be good enough.

won't be able to post a buidl till tonight. But instead of ATM you could go small form factor so mini ITX or MATX. heres a link to a thread which was about £550 max budget;

Why limit yourself to a SATAII SSD when you can get a SATAIII (higher read speeds etc) for £2-3 more

Okay thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll check them all out. But what are your immediate thoughts on the components I have listed?

The motherboard sucks. Ancient chipset and no vrm cooling. Shivy011's builds with the SSD swapped to a MX100 would be better.
