Have you seen anything that made you go "If I won the Euromillions, that is the house I'd buy"?

Saw this today and just such a moment.

Share yours :D

House in the OP is more like a car showroom than a home.

Don't get me wrong, if you invited me over for a BBQ and a test drive I'd be making a bowl of potato salad and picking out steaks before you could say "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

Even though the family business is architecture I would love something like The Glass House by Nico Van Der Meulen: http://imgur.com/a/JNvI1

Whilst I love my cars and the garage part of the house is amazing, that guy obviously doesn't have a wife! The size of the rest of the house is tiny, especially the bathroom.

I fear base-building in crafting games has set my expectations too high.

Krooton, that house looks more like a pretentious meeting place rather than a home.

I'd build my own, for sure.

For sure. Most houses are too dark, so mine would have a lot of windows.

Full cat6 cabling to every room - it's important!

Probably (partly) made of wood, solar roof tiles, as heat efficient as possible, maybe underfloor heating too :p

Decent bit of land to include a wooded area and a stream. Gotta love dem trees.

Thing is the people who own that house (or lonely bachelor by the looks of the cars) probably don't spend a lot of time in the house. If it was me I would be in the garage all the time :D

At risk of sounding smug I moved a week ago to what is pretty much my dream house. I love the village we've lived in for 10 years or so but have always dreamed of having a house in the same village but on the Thames of which there are only a handful, which don't come up for sale often and are typically extortionate. An unloved repossession in the right spot came up and I fought for it. It needs work, which we are cracking on with but it is my dream position. Just in the process of hiring an architect to rethink it, builders ready to go.

I don't hanker after 10 car garages or mansions but boats and the water (and the mountains but that's another story) are my thing. If I properly had Euromillions budget there is a house on a much grander scale about 10 doors up that I would upgrade to.

I wanted to be an architect when I was a kid and well, up until I didn't get the grades at A level to do it really ha but I'm so glad I didn't, as I wouldn't have enjoyed it. Either way, I have visions of what I would like and I'd love to build my own place.
I'd probably build a chalet in the mountains first, then house after that. I just would need to work out where it lived, which is my main issue!

My Mum & step dad built their own chalet in the French alps and it's amazing. My dad has now built his 3rd house of his and I've just always wanted to do that.

Will you be doing a build log in Home and Garden? I remember you mentioned in another topic you had just bought a run down house and couldn't be happier! :p

If this place ever went up for sale (not likely)

Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water

Otherwise I'd design a place myself!
