Your dream house?

You guys really love your modern angular monstrosities :p

I'd much rather something like this:

That view brings a tear to my eye. :( LA skyline is my fave.

Absolutely stunning.

I would like a modernised period/period style house. Will only get what i want if i got it designed and built i'm sure. Somewhere in Cornwall probably, overlooking Polzeath or something.

Will you be doing a build log in Home and Garden? I remember you mentioned in another topic you had just bought a run down house and couldn't be happier! :p

I probably won't do a log to be honest. Very unlikely to get around to it and I think I'd find it a bit personal. :)

According to nod that exoticexcess link has a nasty JS exploit

I'd probably just go for a standard house than an extravagant mansion. Something in the 300k range maybe. More interested on location than contents.

I don't think my dream house exists, so I would have to have it built. If you are talking Euromillions type money though, my 'house' wouldn't be that massive as you only need so much room to live. Though would have to have a personal cinema room :) The garage / workshop area though would have to be the size of a large industrial estate unit at least. This would house my car collection, workshop area to work on the cars and any other DIY projects I feel like taking on. The house in the OP is too car focused even for me so the large garage would be attached to the house but kept seperatly.

This would be situated on a large piece of land somewhere, I haven't decided where yet. I would also have to have a small outhouse on the land incase I am entertaining someone who I don't want them to know how minted I am haha.

My dream house is far simpler than most here.

All I'd want is a nice 3 or 4 bed detached house with a big double garage, with internal access to house, a reasonably sized back garden that backs onto a paddock so I can watch the horses munch away sat there with a beer in my hand. It'd be out in a village somewhere, I've come to the conclusion superfast broadband isn't a massive priority for me any more but a good ambient light free night would be great, so I could have a decent telescope and gaze up at the stars with a beer in my hand.

There's a bit of a pattern there.

did you write this post with a beer in your hand?

I build a place last year which is quite close to being my dram home. If I did not have budget issues I would build something in a really nice area in London (assume I had to stay in the uk). Probably smaller than I have now, around 3000 to 4000 sq ft is more than enough space.
