*** The Official BlackBerry Z10 & Q10 Thread ***

I agree wholeheartedly with Hxc and really a trackpad isn't needed now with BB10. But on the other-hand, from a sales standpoint, taking the trackpad away really did damage Q10 sale IMHO because people coming from a BOLD thought that it wouldn't be as easy to use

Why? Have you used a BB10 device? Most users don't need it. Plus, the BB Classic is bringing it back in a couple of months as an option.

Ive had a Q10 for about a month now. Maybe I need more time with it, but things like selecting text, scrolling, clicking on links would be so much better. and half the time I end up closing the browser from scrolling because im swiping up! Trackpad is the way to go and it doubles as selection tool.

Yes, the classic brings it back but why is it coming back if its not needed?

Because a lot of business users are turned off by the lack of trackpad seemingly. Plus, for those that do a lot of heavy text selection etc, which may be you, it is definitely better.

I've not had any problems scrolling or clicking on links, mind. Thankfully the BB Passport is the best of both worlds and has no ugly toolbelt, but you can use the keyboard as a trackpad.

Looking forward to it launching. 1440x1440 screen is going to be a big upgrade from the 720x720 of the q10!

I would have loved the Passport if it was a classic 4 row keyboard. I'm not a fan of that space bar being between the letters. But hey, who am I to knock it until I've had it in my hand.

Glad to see a bit more buzz in this thread, even if it is only a few of us.

Galaxy, what made you pick up a Q10 so late in its lifespan?

This and the width of the thing are what concern me. I've never liked 'big' phones. I need to get my hands on it to confirm I'll be alright with the size before I pull the trigger on launchday.

In fairness the more and more reviews and photos I see the 'smaller' it seems to get. I will definitely miss being able to fire off a phoe number without the touch screen, thoughl.

Saw it in a shop for £99 and wanted to try it out. At that price I can easily sell with no loss.

Also tempted by the passport, I've been waiting for a decent qwerty for a long time. that extra row of keys would have been nice.

I will most likely sell the Q10 and upgrade to either the passport or note4.

If it's new that is a good price, the rain forest has them sim free for £205 and from sellers for just sub £200 but I believe some are South American grey imports.

I have to use a z10 are work. The software is great. The hardware is UTTER trash.

It is so bad that if you let it run to zero it FUBARs itself and stops charging up until you charge the battery in another z10.

On the Q10, the touchscreen randomly stops working until a restart too.

Thinking about what you said, Snax, that doesn't make any sense.

If the battery is flat then why would putting it in another Z10 help? As the battery would still be flat

I think the hardware is great. good camera, speaker, keyboard, screen, the back cover also has soft grippy material.
Im going to update mine to the leaked os. see if it improves anything.

Is that a new or second-hand price of £99?

Second hand. really good condition though.

Is anyone here 100% going to be picking up a Classic or Passport?

I also can't wait for 10.3. Will give a fresh feel to the phone. I'm not really a fan of leaked OS's

The Passport looks like a very interesting device but for me, I don't think I'll be picking it up as I use my Z10 with one hand a lot.

I might check out the Classic when my contract ends but hopefully 10.3 will keep me entertained for a little while longer.

My Z10 is fantastic apart from the battery life. I normally carry a spare battery so it's not too bad.

LOL either you are telling lies or you just got unlucky with a duff unit. Ive had my z10 since launch and it hasnt skipped a beat although its a backup phone as i own the Z30 which is my daily driver but i still tinker around with the Z10.

Battery life on it is rubbish, id be lucky to get a day use out of it but other than the small battery in it...the phone and OS is one of the best ive ever used.

Ill be replacing my z30 with the passport, as much as i love the z30...i miss my keyboard and the passports keyboard looks innovative to say the least.

Just hope it wont cost a bomb off line as i buy my phones sim free. Still ill keep the z30 as my backup and probably give my z10 to my friend who's keen on having it.

10.3 looks like its a game changer, i was toying around with the idea of installing the latest 10.3 leak but decided not to as i need my phone to be stable so will wait for the official version.

Good to see you back here, Yas.

Just on a battery perspective, how much of an improvement are you seeing compared to a Z10? Today I unplugged at 9AM, had moderate use, and was down to 30% by 4PM, just not really good enough for the way I use my phone and the time I'd be back to a charger.
