**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

The edge is so pants, in this iteration anyway.

Pass on the Note 4 too. Nice hardware but the design is not my taste.

Dissappointed.

And good to see Samsung haven't changed their flood the market tactics. Yet another handset to add to their hundreds. What are they thinking with the note 4 edge.

On another note that Rachel is cringe worthy with her trying to crack jokes every 2 minutes.

I'd safely bet on apple outselling every other phone this year. While large screen devices are most certainly not new, apple have a way of presenting old things as "new" and they make you want their devices.

Just wait for all the people who slated the large screen android devices to suddenly proclaim the new iphone as a revolution lol

I personally think samsung should have gone all out on one note 4, concentrating on the build quality and improving touch wiz as opposed to bringing out two versions of the note.

But from where I'm standing it seems nothing has changed, similar build, gimmick features, and no doubt 5000000 different versions of the same phone...

To top it off the note 4 isn't due until October, I can see apple releasing in September...

As you said I think Apple are in for a good year; their new phones, smart watch and iPads are going to be strong performers. I still see me getting a Note 4* but Samsung are still complacent, just waiting for the Note Edge Mini......

Why would they go back to USB2?

My love for Rachel Riley is dwindling.

Hmm I like the edge screen features. Especially for camera/media use where the main screen is uninterrupted. Or when note taking or editing with S-Pen, if the toolbar moves to the edge screen then awesome.

The camera improvements are nice, 60% more sensitive in low light is good and no more delay in processing when using low light modes.

He said the battery will actually last longer because of component efficiency than Note 3 so that is also a good thing.

USB2 is a bummer, means taking out the sd card now if you want to move about large amounts of data... I imagine they went back to USB2 because of masses of people not in the know complaining that they didn't know what it was and that they could use a normal microusb cable on it too and not have to carry the samsung cable around...

Not very exciting. Just like with the S5 they have opted to stay bland.

Can't believe they've stepped back in a few ways, no fingerprint scanner, no usb 3.0, 64gb sd card limit, and it's not water resistant is it?

Now to be totally honest I don't care about those features, so why am I contradicting myself?

Well I just feel disappointed as normally the notes have always been leading the way in terms of specs, I mean the note 3 was fully loaded and stayed relevant for a long time. The 3gb of ram for example was a standout spec.

Samsung seem to have taken steps back in a few ways, the s5 was similar too, and even the galaxy tab s is a disappointment in terms of specs, the processor is too weak for the resolution.

I imagine the s6 will be the one to watch out for. No doubt 4gb ram, android l, and a really fast processor with an even more premium build.

At this stage the only thing keeping me with samsung products are amoled screens.

Rachel and her cheesy jokes lmao

Yeah lost interest in Rachel the moment she started talking. Shame.

64GB sd card is not the limit, whatever is out is the limit, so 128GB.

Sadly yes, I'd have liked to see that. Much easier to unlock the phone while doing other things :D

Let's be honest though, copy pasting links from multiple tabs isn't a skill in itself though is it :p

He finds the best videos to copy and paste though ;)

I didn't watch the full conference so not sure if they mentioned the sd card in any way.

According to engadget here http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/03/samsung-galaxy-note-4-hands-on/ it's 64gb (about half way down the page where they talk about spcs they mention it)

"For internal memory, you can choose between 32 and 64GB, and you can add up to a 64GB microSD card (not 128GB, oddly)"
