Having seen Loose Change and spent too much of my life reading various theories, I do think the whole thing is pretty damn dodgy.
 
No doubt some intel somewhere suggested an attack on home soil, I doubt they realised the severity or the opportunity it would provide to quite the extent that it did.

the claim being made is a bit different to 'its an inside job' etc.. he's essentially saying he believes they had some prior knowledge of it - I really doubt they had 'exact plans' - but its perhaps not un-plausible that some intelligence that that sort of attack was likely was available... then again they've probably got intelligence about various potential attacks..
 
All he is basically saying is that he thinks US intelligence knew a bit more about what was about to happen than they let on, not that they were complicit or behind it.

I think its fair to say they knew something was coming - several other countries intelligence agencies pulled people out of the general area on that day due to concerns that an event was imminent.

Pretty much.

I've discussed it with friends who shoot me down in flames for even considering the possibility of it being something other than what we have seen and heard.
 
Regardless of the truth behind the attacks, one thing is certain: governments are perfectly capable of turning a blind eye to their own intelligence and allowing attacks upon their mainland or allies to happen if it supports their own agendas.

One thing is for sure countries like Russia and Saudi Arabia, etc. seemed to know more about what was going on on the US's own front steps than the US seemed to :S (which does somewhat anecdotally tend to suggest it wasn't (entirely) an inside job).

i'm a pretty level headed person but i think the whole 'shock' factor of it simply lead to a wide spread belief of it being a totally unique style of attack.

i'd be lying if i hadn't thought recently that there may come a day when something is unearthed and everyone then realises just how bizarre it was to be thought of as a new style of attack that couldn't possibly have been carried out without assistance and intelligence.

i struggle to get my head around the two ideaologies.

Perhaps. Though like I said, having spent ages watching the various videos on YouTube offering an 'alternative' explanation of what happened, I'm pretty convinced it was a very dodgy state of affairs.

This is pretty much the case - given how shocking the events were, it's naturally going to discourage people from thinking it was anything but terrorists.
