**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Aha I just finished watching the above video and indeed it is! Strange how the other pages didn't mention home button fingerprint scanner.

My bad.

Had some time to think after the MKB coverage especially. The Note 4 appeals to me more now than the Edge. I wonder who will now use the "Samsung = Plastic fantastic" line from here on :p

What I find odd is the mis information I've been reading.

Aside from the sd card thing, a few places are saying the note 4 comes with 4gb of ram? I could have sworn it was 3gb?!

Edit:ignore me it's definitely 3. Despite 2 sites and videos claiming 4gb

Not enough of an upgrade over the Note 3 IMO. In a way the Note 3's specs were too good for it's time as it still holds up with the best hardware now. Still a beastly device and anbody coming from a S2 or something should be in for a treat.

We'll see more of an improvement next year I think with the S6 which could possibly have 64bit and 4GB ram. Also think 1440p on a screen less than 6" is just silly and a waste of battery life/handicapping gaming performance.

I'm not sure why they ditched the stitching effect in the faux leather, but I quite liked it in the Note 3. It added a premium feel imo. Still, it looks good.

I was going to buy this sim free, but if it's 600 quid on release then I can't see how a contract won't be a better idea.

Looks good to me. The Edge is certainly interesting, will likely go for that. Worried it might be up at £600 SIM free though...

So the note 4 and note edge are two different phones?

Tbh, I don't see much of an upgrade from my N3 think I'll be keeping it for a bit longer.

The Edge is the same phone internal hardware wise, only difference being the edge screen so slightly different shape of the casing to match and a 3000mAh battery due to this.

I'm 90% sold on the Note 4 but I keep thinking how I would use the Edge and if it would aid phone usage for me or not to warrant the 220mAh battery capacity loss.

Personally, I think that's where we are now. I'm not sure tech can give much more from a phone than we already get now. 1080p to 1440p for example. On 5 to 6 inches, will it be noticeable?

I like the edge thing, looks a bit ugly and I'm always dropping my phone. Smashed my note 3 in a week, that wouldn't last long at all.

I agree, the only thing I'd love is waterproof (completely) and a better battery life. But then I don't 'need' this.

That's early launch price for that and I bet other stores. Remember the Note 3 launch, same situation.

Kind of disappointed really. Looks wise it hasn't changed that much. I would have preferred a different design and hardware wise its not as big a leap as I expected either.
Its much faster than my note 2 of course but my note 2 already flys on the rom im on and was expecting a bigger leap hardware wise from the note 3.

My contract is up in October though and im due for my upgrade but so far I don't know if ill go with the note 4. I would have liked the Sony Z3 but the camera isn't as good as I would have liked either and only a 1080p screen compared to the Quad HD for the note.

Good lord all these new phones are underwhelming : /. I just laughed when I looked at the Z3 spec list, practically exactly the same as the phone they released 6 months ago.

I like the idea of the Edge but I have no need for a screen so big. Hopefully Samsung will start putting it on other phones.
