144Hz IPS-type Panels Finally On Their Way! 1440p as Well!

Taken long enough.

Everything seems to have been at such a stand still for so long, now getting so many different options!

Though, no sign of what I would ideally want 24 inch 2560x1440 IPs with the 144hz refresh.

Triple screen 27 inch too much.

Though if the 34 inch screens came out with the 144hz refresh, that would get my money maybe.

Halle****ingluja. About time.

Still waiting for a 3440 x 1440 superwide ips or VA with gsync though, that runs above 60hz......

Not ultrawide/21.9?! PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT :p

I am holding out for IPS/VA, UW/21.9, freesync (be happy enough with 60HZ + freesync but would prefer 120/144HZ + freesync)

It'll be years before my dream monitor is available (21:9 34" IPS @144Hz with some form of adaptive refresh rate tech), and that's assuming OLED/QLED doesn't show up in before then... But in the meantime, one of these with G-Sync or Free Sync capability would be freakin' sweet.

Beautiful! :p

Given AUO's domination in the 144Hz sector and how long they've stuck with the same old panels I really did wonder if they had something like this brewing. Something to be genuinely excited about.

Oh and nice to see updates for their other lines as well. :p

Some people are never happy ;)

That's me :)

As they are finally making 144hz IPS type panels and therefore finally acknowledging the gaming community that values image quality AND motion clarity, what do you think the chances are that some vendors will incorporate Gsync into these new monitors?

I would be rather surprised if BenQ, parent company of AU Optronics who make these panels, wasn't interested in doing exactly that. ;)

that's excellent news, time to cancel the swift pre-order and wait a little longer!

Thinking of DSRing (which I am anyway) and waiting longer by keeping my 30" Hazro. The Asus swift will be worthless when these hit the shelves.

So, is there any point buying a new monitor now or is it best to wait till the end of the year? All these new monitors popping up with different specs is confusing me :(

Ooooooh. I know you have good insider knowledge on all things monitor, so I'm taking your line and the winky as a definitely maybe ;):D

Just got to keep on holding off any monitor purchases, yet....

finally!!!
I need to get myself a new monitor so this could be the perfect occasion! let's hope that it's not gonna take more than a couple of months for them to release a monitor using this panel
