For reasons best known to Konami, the PC version of PES 2015 will apparently have lower quality visuals than those released on PS4/Xbox One. This is a bit of a slap in the face for PC users keen on the upcoming game in the series.

Despite most gaming PCs being capable of running of fancy graphical effects in the 1080p resolution/60 fps combo without breaking sweat (particularly when it comes to football games,) Konami have decided that our platform isn’t worthy of the full suite of lighting and texture effects that’ll be coming to the ‘next gen’ console versions.

That news comes from PES 2015 “European Brand Manager” Adam Bhatti, who broke the disappointing information on twitter.

PC users : same modes and gameplay as PS4 / Xbox One. Better visuals than PS3 / X360. A hybrid really. Focus was accessibility and quality.

I will not be purchasing that then.

Their twitter response after obviously trolling people who previously wanted to give them money:

PC guys, I will block abuse. If u care about gameplay over visuals, stay with us.If not, sorry. But pls let us move forward with a great game

The last PES game I bought was on the PS2, think it was 2004? Do people still buy the PES series?

Can't say this is the best move from them either.

Sign of the times sadly with game development, people need to start voting with their money instead of moaning and then buying the game anyway after being ignored by the developer/given some random PR BS answer(s).

Shameful. That guy's tweets sum up modern publishers.

Nothing they do is going to convince me that one of the new consoles is any good, or worth buying.

Absolutely farcical. Not sure how he can say:

We shouldn't be forced into choosing gameplay over visuals, I'm sure most mid-range PCs would handle the new lighting and textures @ 1920x1080 with ease. Then again if they'd actually listened to their fans and the rest of the community years ago then maybe they'd still be producing a quality football game instead of an also-ran.

It's not really a sign of the times at all, it happened when the PS3 and 360 came out too, some multi platform game were gimped on PC, presumably to make the console versions look like they're running on more powerful hardware.

Their loss. PC gaming is the biggest market out there, maybe not for football but they want to choose their ****ing words carefully. We are numerous and we hold grudges like no other platform.

Pretty sure PES has been dead in the water for a few years- alienating the biggest gaming platform is just the nail in the coffin.

Franchises that refuse to move forward along with technology are left behind. Simple as that.

Sure its not a new thing but its increasingly becoming more common of game publishers/studios to treat their community badly and still expect to be paid.

I agree. Especially with the whole "GamerGate "and "NotYourShield" business, devs and publishers are starting to increasingly insult their own customers all while not expecting any repercussions. It's business suicide.

It's the same as Tesco insulting their customers and not expecting them to walk out the store.

My thoughts too.

A shameful reply.

It's translated to "We run out of time and money so the PC version can suck it because about 1000 people will buy it".

Actually not to. There's no reason they couldn't have used the same assets as they have in the PS4 and Xbox One versions.

It will actually take effort to incorporate lower quality assets for the PC build.

I doubt they'd care, the market for PES on the PC must be pretty small to make it worth paying for it to be gimped.

Must just be laziness.

Trouble is, if you want to be able to mod kits, teams etc, the PC version will still be the best of the bunch, as there is no way to get an option file on a next gen console for the forseeable future. Can't say as I'm enamoured with the idea of playing a football game with anything but a 40" TV and sofa though.

Well of course it's impossible, the next gen of consoles aren't out!

Living room 50" fifa 14. Add some sweet fx and hi res textures and you can stick your peasant consoles :)
